Here in Simi Valley, Calif., where I’ll attend the Reagan National Defense Forum to speak on some of the most urgent challenges we are facing today.

The B-21 is a testament to the best of America’s vibrant and diverse industrial base. It’s this sort of advance that makes us great and this sort of advance doesn’t just happen. It takes investment. It takes cooperation. And it takes partnership.

.@SecDef: [The @USAirForce’s B-21 Raider is] proof of the Department’s long-term commitment to building advanced capabilities that will fortify America’s ability to deter aggression, today and into the future.

Wheels down in Palmdale, Calif. I look forward to attending the unveiling ceremony for the @USAirForce’s first new strategic bomber in more than three decades. It’s an honor to be part of a historical moment made possible because of American innovation.

I was honored to talk to some of our outstanding troops to wish them a Happy Thanksgiving. Being away from family and friends during the holidays can be tough, but I am immensely grateful for all our men and women who serve around the globe to defend our country.

On the long flight home, I'll reflect on all the productive discussions I had with my counterparts on our commitments to regional peace & security. Our network of alliances and partnerships -including with ASEAN- is an unparalleled strategic asset that we do not take for granted.

I had the pleasure to continue a long tradition of U.S. participation at the ADMM Plus. We are deeply committed to working shoulder-to-shoulder with ASEAN to maintain stability and build a #FreeandOpenIndoPacific.

I completed a productive multilateral meeting w/ my ASEAN counterparts. The U.S. is elevating its engagement w/ ASEAN at all levels, as reflected in @POTUS’s announcement last week. We firmly commit to support for ASEAN centrality which is the heart of the Indo-Pacific strategy.

Wheels down in Cambodia. I look forward to attending the 9th ASEAN Defense Ministers Meeting-Plus and having bilateral engagements with Defense Ministers of 🇰🇭Cambodia, 🇻🇳Vietnam, 🇮🇳India, and the
🇵🇭Philippines.

Before leaving 🇮🇩 Indonesian, I met National Armed Forces Commander, Andika Perkasa. With over 200 joint military engagements each year, our bilateral training has never been stronger. Exercise Super Garuda Shield expanded to include over 4,000 combined forces from 14 countries.

It was great to see 🇮🇩 Defense Minister @prabowo again to discuss our bilateral defense partnership. We committed to further enhancing defense cooperation and interoperability between our two militaries. We also reaffirmed our unwavering support for a #FreeandOpenIndoPacific.

.@SecDef: As @POTUS announced at the U.S.-ASEAN and East Asia Summits, we plan to fund new education and networking opportunities for emerging civilian defense leaders: increased English language training, pro military education & new institutional capacity building engagements.

.@SecDef: Our own defense leaders have also benefited from Indonesia’s outstanding institutions. More than 100 American military officers have been educated here, and we continue to invest in the future.

.@SecDef: Free people will always refuse to replace an open order of rules and rights with one dictated by force & fear & that’s why Ukraine matters. Because rules matter, sovereignty matters & freedom matters.

.@SecDef: Beijing, like Moscow, seeks a🌎 where might makes right, disputes are resolved by force, & autocrats can stamp out the flame of freedom. As @POTUS said after meeting w/ President Xi, “There need not be a new Cold War.” But we remain clear-eyed about the China challenge.

.@SecDef: Free government, free minds, and free peoples will always be stronger than autocrats who believe that their grip on power is all that matters.

.@SecDef: Make no mistake: we will not be dragged into Putin’s war of choice. But we will stand by Ukraine as it fights to defend itself. We will defend every inch of NATO territory. And we will continue to strengthen NATO’s collective defense and deterrence.

.@SecDef: Countries around the 🌎 have rallied behind some clear 1st principles. Countries don’t get to invade their peaceful neighbors. Autocrats don’t get to redraw borders by force & the imperial ambitions of bullies don’t outweigh the sovereign rights of UN member states.
