The tapestry of our colorful planet from 250 mi above is beautiful because of its diversity. Today’s SCOTUS 6-3 vote marks a great moment in equality and the LGBTQ community. It’s about basic human rights.

BREAKING: The Supreme Court has delivered a historic victory for LGBTQ people — ruling that the federal law that bars sex discrimination in employment does apply to LGBTQ employees.

Congratulations @AstroBehnken and @Astro_Doug on arriving at your new home. Impressive work, you guys!
This is the first time in human history @NASA_Astronauts have entered the @Space_Station from a commercially-made spacecraft. @AstroBehnken and @Astro_Doug have finally arrived to the orbiting laboratory in @SpaceX's Dragon Endeavour spacecraft. pic.twitter.com/3t9Ogtpik4

Looking forward to a great launch today! As always, the weather needs to cooperate. I’ll be watching! #LaunchAmerica
LIVE NOW: #LaunchAmerica, Take 2. 🎬 Watch as @NASA_Astronauts fly to the @Space_Station from U.S. soil for the first time in nine years:

I’ve had ice cream in space, but never @benandjerrys. Made it a mile high here in Colorado—a very successful mission.

Thanks for sending me #bootsonthemoon. Now let’s get boots on the moon. But first we #LaunchAmerica!

Weather. It happens.
Today's #LaunchAmerica attempt was an instantaneous launch window. Due to orbital mechanics, we need to make sure that at the time we launch, we are able to reach the @Space_Station on time and accurately. Because of this, we could not wait for clear weather today. pic.twitter.com/t5uykgL2Fp

Guess what day it is?! #LaunchAmerica
Our #LaunchAmerica LIVE coverage includes liftoff of @SpaceX’s Crew Dragon spacecraft, a @KellyClarkson performance, live video from space while @AstroBehnken & @Astro_Doug fly to the @Space_Station and much more.

Honoring those today on #MemorialDay who courageously gave their lives in service to our nation.

May we honor them every day with our commitment to defend our freedom, justice and democracy they died for.

No need for shoes but you hold yourself in place with your feet so socks provide cushioning. Feet are colder than normal too with fluid shift.
#Apollo13AtHome - @StationCDRKelly - other than comfort and tradition, is there any point in giving astronauts shoes and socks on missions? Not like you're doing a lot of walking.

Granted, those socks came in handy this time, but still...

Possibly.
I’m certain that in the real mission they heard suspenseful music while waiting for the carbon dioxide level to drop. #Apollo13AtHome

The highest I’ve seen. When the CO2 is at its lowest on ISS, it’s ten times what it is on earth.

Different kinds. But on many saturdays would try to orbit the earth once, looking out the window and listening to classical music.

Tom Hanks is the best!
#Apollo13AtHome @TomHanks made it clear he only wanted to do the movie if I was going to pursue absolute authenticity. He kept reminding us all that we didn’t need to invent drama, it was all there in the details.

Been there, done that. Dropped an expletive or two accidentally. Voice Activate (VOX) Comm has its downsides.
#Apollo13AtHome imagine being on ‘VOX’ and broadcasting your thoughts to everyone in the world ... bit like sending out tweets on social media these days I guess!

If it was catastrophic, we would get in the Russian Soyuz and come home. Assuming we could.

That’s usually not a problem in the vomit comet, but I suspect this is just great acting.
#Apollo13AtHome @RealRonHoward - was there any trick to getting Bill Paxton to throw up in zero G? Wonder if that was a problem over multiple takes.
