I’ve decided to play #dota2 again, if anyone else stying at home wants join.

Excuse me, but you might have missed the PM's speeches. 1.5 m apart, not in a line, thank you pic.twitter.com/7cxyx2DALr

Since I am doing #StayHomeAustralia - I’ve been cleaning up my computer and found some images from when life was good pre-2017.

This one is me climbing a 3500m active volcano in South America to ski back down.

Coming to #NorthernNSW for holidays. PLEASE DON’T!

And for everyone that lives here - #ByronStayHome.

If the borders to #NSW are not closed, it’s open for 3.6 million #Qld-ers, 1.5 hours drive, to come to an area with 2x the elderly population at higher risk of #COVID19.

Studying #COVID19 on a cruise ship - insights from @NatureNews.

- Almost 1/5 infected showed no symptoms
- Case Fatality Rate at %1.1
- 2 week quarantine lead to 1 infection on average infecting less than 1 person, instead of up to 7

I call bullshit on everyone who has bought up all the flour actually using it.

That's the point of hoarding - isn't it?

(Slightly wondering why we don't expand testing criteria to ensure community transmission isn't happening, but I am not an epidemiologist)

We need to be careful not to degrade sensitive habitats when building renewable energy facilities. Currently, thousands of renewable energy facilities are impacting key biodiversity areas, protected areas and wilderness. Great work led by Jose Rehbein: onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/epdf/10.11…

The one upside to #COVID19 is that lots of holiday rentals semm to now be advertising for long term tenants.

Last time I checked about 25% of dwellings were unoccupied in the Byron Shire (for #AirbBnB probs).

Close the #nsw border.

Holidaymakers forget that people actually live in Byron and surrounds, including double the aged population.

3.6m #qld-ers are only an hour or so drive away. Stopping that movement is vital for #northernsw populations.

I want to send a daily distraction from #coronavirus and this is just so cool: Squid say hello with a light show nature.com/articles/d4158…
Replying to @NaomiOreskes
I forgot squids - or much else for that matter - existed. This is wonderful.

And now the local chemist has a sign-in sheet where you lodge your name, contact, and time of visit, to make contact tracing easier.

Great idea! Except they reckon half the ppl have yelled at them about #COVID19 being a conspiracy.
So proud of all the great local businesses doing their bit, which they started doing weeks ago before government action (inaction), like going to take-away only, etc.

Now local IGA will send potentially sick staff home with full pay and do free local deliveries for elderly. pic.twitter.com/6UHk7toM0w

Can #NSW please close the border - traffic is still freely flowing south.

There is DOUBLE the elderly population in #Tweed and #NorthernRivers. The last thing we need is the usual influx of people in the school holidays to spread #coronavirusau.

Help me out here @GreensTamara @mayor_richo - i feel like nobody is talking about this!

Kelpie x dachshund or jack Russell?
Replying to @upulie
I am thinking Jack Russell too maybe. She is fearless and never stops trotting in circles... Not sure whether to think about breed traits or morphology more.

Hillsong is trending on Twitter - but this claim of confirmed cases in the church is actual #fakenews. There are no official reports about this.
Replying to @isobelroe
Is it confirmed fakenews? Or ‘unconfirmed reports’ or ‘we understand that xyz’?

Very open to guesses of what cross. I’d like to know 😂 pic.twitter.com/LhslnF4Y7c
Getting some Kelpie consensus here...

I am livid 😡

This was international arrivals at @SydneyAirport this morn.

When @AusBorderForce was asked wtf re #SocialDistancing the reply was “not our problem, that’s biosecurity.”

Then they just head on anywhere in Aus. We need much stricter domestic procedures too. People are still flying to and from places just to see friends.

I have also thought this. Though she is fully grown at 4.5kg. Ball obsessed. Not too easily trainable, though... Compared to our Whippett/cattle dog.

Hello Twitter. Do you have a dachshund? I think you should pose your dachsund pics, esp at me
Replying to @upulie
Cross. Well I think with Dachsund, anyway. She’s long and funny but not quite as long and funny.

I’m on the other side of a hard border to my 78 year old mum, @emuballs. We are insanely close and this is killing me. We are phoning and texting throughout the day. We are making light of her isolation and calling it “house arrest”. Her neighbours are dropping off food...
Replying to @vanbadham @callapilla and 1 otherfalse
I'm only a 10 min drive from my Mum, but I am not visiting her as she is immunocompromised - except to drop a box of shopping on the driveway. I can WALK to my Dad's house, and it is the same dealio. Just dropping off supplies. It is strange Skyping people so physically close.

Wow, Rottnest is about to get hundreds of Aussies coming off a cruise ship soon to arrive in Fremantle. They will spend 14 days in quarantine. Smart move.

Well I feel for WA right now. They've just had restrictions put on the amount of booze they can purchase. 1 x carton of beer & 3 x bottles of wine. Ouch.

The #NSW border needs to be closed. This might not matter much for Sydneysiders, but #NorthernNSW has 2x the state average of ppl over 65, who are more at risk from #COVID19.

A lot of people from #QLD would still be planing to come south in the school hols.

The success or failure of Australia's #COVID19 fight relies on just one thing - whether Australians stay at home or not.

Coronavirus will continue to spread virtually unchecked unless at least 8 in 10 Australians stay home as much as possible: ab.co/2WFRuLz

You have the power to do this, what many European leaders have already done @ScottMorrisonMP:

Order banks to suspend all mortgages for 6 mths

Order utility companies to suspend all water, gas and electricity bills for 6 mths

Order landlords that evictions illegal for 6 mths

If my wedding is also a funeral, are wedding guests increased to 10 or added to 15? But since I’ll have relocate from the food court to a hairdresser for a max of 30 mins, 15 I’d probably too many.

“We’re now serious about return travellers” - what about before?

Why is no one tested or temp checked when they fly in and jump on the SkyBus in Melbs, trains in Syd. Thats not isolation but it’s how ppl get home. Not in private cars like the pollies. #coronavirusau

Yes - working on a permit system. But if you have legitimate reasons for travel in that area, it’s allowed
Replying to @AmyRemeikis
That's great news. Been worried about spread from large QLD population to Northern NSW in school hols. We have double the elderly population of state average, which my parents and in-laws are in... Guessing going to the beach or to booked accom is not ok?

It has finally happened – Queensland has cut itself off from the rest of the country. All borders shut down to non-residents, or "essential" workers, from tomorrow night. (Tweed residents who need to travel to Qld for work also allowed in) Police enforced.
