I had the privilege of speaking at the Airport Law Enforcement Agencies Network Conference this morning. We recognize and value the work that our law enforcement partners perform on a daily basis. They provide a critical layer of security for our nation’s transportation system.
Today, we mourn the passing of former @USDOT Secretary Norman Y. Mineta, TSA’s founding Secretary. Over the years we have presented the inaugural Leadership Award, TSA’s highest honor in his name. We honor his commitment to public service & send condolences to the Mineta family.
It’s been 20 proud years of protecting the nation, remembering our past, and securing our future. Today, we commemorate the anniversary of the first federalized airport. What an incredible milestone for @BWI_Airport & @TSA!

TSA fully supports the President’s Executive Order signed today on Government Services. Our ongoing deployment of new CT scanners and credential authentication technologies to speed up security lines at our nation’s airports is a top priority.

Great coordination between @TSA FAM and @Delta crew aboard DL342 last night to quickly detain the unruly passenger. Our partnership with airlines is essential in keeping our airways safe. Passengers must follow crew member instructions to avoid potential fines or imprisonment.
TSA FAM assisted crew to detain an unruly passenger on Delta Flight 342 late last night from DCA to LAX (diverted to OKC). TSA does not tolerate any behavior that risks the security of a commercial airliner and is working with fed partners/local authorities on the case.
