We won! I cannot believe how quickly @martinepowers @RennieYS and @maggiepenman managed to bring together this remarkable piece of journalism. Enormous thanks to @phscoop @CarolLeonnig @Marissa_Jae @rebtanhs @Rho_Co and @olearybill for making this episode possible.

I need the 10,000 word reconstructed narrative when this saga is over. Or 8 episode Podcast. The twists and turns!

Always love speaking to @martinepowers and Post Reports. Here’s our 15-minute attempt at explaining what’s at stake in the rumbling tensions over Taiwan washingtonpost.com/podcasts/post-…

I talked to @CleveWootson today about this story -- and about some of the quotes that bowled me over:

“Who do you think is excited to vote on November 2 at this moment? Because it ain’t Democrats. It ain’t Black folks. It ain’t young people.”

Latest:“Biden can’t go to Ga. or any other Black state in the South & say, ‘This is what we delivered,” said Robinson. “Black men are pissed off a/b the nothingness that has happened …Does it make the work harder? It makes the work damn near impossible.” washingtonpost.com/politics/biden…

I started listening to #544Days, and I can’t get over how … *funny* it is? Like, maybe not comedy-podcast funny, but wry and snarky and lots of wonderful teasing asides from @YeganehSalehi. The spirit of this thing is just so good.

We’ve all been asking questions about Biden’s role in ending the war in Afghanistan — but what about his role in starting it?

Incredible reporting from my friend @ArjSingh92 on the Post’s podcast Can He Do That? with @AllisonMichs

In January 1980, Joe Biden, a member of the Senate Intelligence Committee was told that the CIA would escalate US involvement in Afghanistan. He didn't object.

That was just the beginning of Biden's long history with Afghanistan.

q for people who edit/produce narrative podcasts: when you listen to a rough cut, do you listen all the way through first without stopping to look at the script or make notes, and then go through it again more slowly? or do you consult script + take notes on the first pass?

i go on a walk and keep a post-it in my hand and write timecodes for things that are bugging me, and then when i'm done i go back to the computer + script and listen to each time code and write out my thought/suggestion in a comment

So, we thought about … how would it sound to tell the story of September 11th to a kid who had never heard what happened? A kid who didn’t know what that day *felt* like, or wondered why it was still such a Big Deal in the minds of so many Americans 20 years later?
