The 2021-22 New York Rangers:
Ryan Reaves to NYR for a 3rd, as announced by the team

Derek Forbort was actually named after Derek Sanderson.

Sanderson was his dad's favorite player.

Derek Forbort speaking with the media now.

On the appeal to sign with Boston:

"A big part of it was just the city. One of my favorite cities."

He regularly visited Boston while playing with the Manchester Monarchs from 2013-15.

Tomas Nosek on playing with former Vegas forward Erik Haula once more:

"He's a good guy, I'm excited to be with him again. Hopefully we bring some luck and some goals and help the team win the Cup."

Tomas Nosek has some familiarity with Bruins forwards and fellow Czechs David Pastrnak and David Krejci.

And no, he does not have any inside info if David Krejci is returning.

New Bruin Tomas Nosek is here — live from outside a grocery store in the Czech Republic.

"I want to play in the playoffs every year, I want to play for the Cup every year."

Mike Reilly: "It was my intention the whole time to want to stay in Boston."

There's a new guy in net for Boston — and he doesn't seem like a short-term stopgap:

Nick Foligno & his family have a special connection to Boston.

His daughter underwent heart surgery at Boston Children's in 2013 & 2018.

"I think it was – my wife said, serendipitous in a way, of coming back to a place that gave us a chance to be a family in the first place."

Nick Foligno on choosing a new number next season:

"I forgot Taylor Hall took 71 ... son of a gun."

"I might have to text him."

Nick Foligno on where he expects to play in Boston's lineup:

"I think I've heard everything but goalie."

Foligno on appeal of playing for Boston:

"They're a team I've admired from afar. Their culture, their structure. ... That, topped with the conversation that I had with Bergy ... that excites you as a player."

New Bruin Nick Foligno checking in:

My day on Twitter

"Matt, what do you think?"

"Here's what I think"

"Eh, how can you think that? You don't know what you're talking about. Come on."

Linus Ullmark: "You would be a fool not to think of the Stanley Cup as your main goal."

Linus Ullmark: "I always liked playing in Boston. ... Very beautiful city. ... Lots of passionate people."

Linus Ullmark said he got a few messages from his new Bruins teammates, including his former Sabres teammate in Curtis Lazar.

Hope Vladar carves out a great role for himself over in Calgary.

Have yet to find a person with anything other than praise for his attitude. A genuine guy.
Dan Vladar celebrated his 23rd birthday yesterday.

He said that the team had cupcakes to celebrate, adding:

"The biggest gift you guys gave me on Wednesday is we made it to the second round."

Vladar added that he's going to FaceTime his sister, who is getting married today. pic.twitter.com/85Ygr1x1cH

Don Sweeney: "We've got a competitive group. We're in win mode."

A regular theme from this Sweeney presser: versatility and depth.

Sweeney notes that Boston has options IF Rask comes back later this season.

Swayman is waivers exempt and could return down to Providence if need be.

Obviously, a ton of factors up in the air.

Don Sweeney noted that Patrice Bergeron gave Nick Foligno a call when free agency opened.

Don Sweeney said that David Krejci "has his own reasons" for his extended timeline when it comes to pondering his future.

"He'll keep those private, as will I."

Sweeney: “Nothing has changed on that front” in terms of David Krejci’s return. “Not a definitive timeline.”

“We’ve always left the door open for Tuukka to return” - Don Sweeney.

Don Sweeney speaking now.

I mean, I was joking here ... but the Bruins are going to have to clear some cap space.
At this rate, David Krejci might be signing for 3 bags of Big League Chew and a Charlie Card.
