The owner of Dependable Glass said he got into work at 5 a.m. and when he opened the back door, he saw the two bodies badly burned and called 911.

Father Daniel Brouillette at St. Peter Catholic Church said he is unsettled and staying prayerful, as retired Father Otis Young and Pastoral Associate Ruth Prats have been missing since last night. Investigators are still working to identify the double homicide victims.

A student crossing Magazine Street to school this morning was hit by a car.

According to the school, the child has been released from the hospital and
is now home with family.

The mother and daughter who died in a murder-suicide in Mandeville this morning have been identified by the coroner as Tara Book, 43, and Brittany Buras, 23. The STPSO says Book shot her daughter before shooting herself.

St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's Office: Around 8:30 am, a woman called 911 and told a dispatcher she had just shot her daughter and that she was going to shoot herself. The dispatcher then heard what appeared to be a gunshot. The mother in her 40s and daughter in her 20s both died.

NOPD: An armed woman entered the McDonald's on Claiborne Ave and forced several employees into the freezer. She made the manager open a safe and she ran off with money, unsure how much. The suspect hasn’t been identified. No employees are believed to have been injured.

The incident happened at 8:12 last night, NOPD said. The McDonald's is open today and appears to be operating as usual.

First City Court Constable Lambert Boissiere Jr. confirms that one of his deputy constables was shot serving eviction and is now in stable condition at the hospital. Property manager also shot, does not appear to have life-threatening injuries.
