5 Premier League games played so far this weekend with 28 goals scored. Back doors are very much open behind closed doors.

Four goals for Son with 4 assists for Kane. That has to be a first?

In reply to @GaryLineker
Never mind that, what are you cooking for everyone?
Replying to @prodnose @BBCMOTD
No kitchen, not even with virtual reality. 😏

Well, well: @wilfriedzaha wraps it up. Meanwhile @Sanchooo10 brilliantly provides an assist for @ErlingHaaland.

Donny on the money. Lovely finish by Van de Beek on his debut.

Good heavens. Game’s gone.

Not a penalty in a million seasons. Nonsensical decision.

Great to see him back. 👏🏻👏🏻

This is getting silly. 4-3 now and over 20 minutes to go.

Great stuff from @LUFC and they’re 4-1 up. There seems a real desire this season not to be on last on @BBCMOTD 👍🏻

Blimey! 10 goals already on @BBCMOTD tonight and we’re only a game and a half in.

Hmmmmm, daft as it was to slide in, I’m not sure how that was a penalty. VAR must have been on a coffee run.

A hat-trick for @CalvertLewin14 and he’s now the leading goal-scorer in the Premier League. Been a while since @Everton had a top flight golden boot winner.

Another for the ever improving @CalvertLewin14 from a delightful pass from James. Nice bond they seem to have.

Well, this game is making an early claim to be top of the @BBCMOTD running order as Keane makes it 3-2. I can already guarantee it will be in the top 4.

A pearler from Pereira and it’s 2-2.

Rodriguez. James Rodriguez scores his first goal for @Everton 👏🏻

"To make life a little better for people less fortunate than you. That's what I think a meaningful life is. One lives not just for oneself, but for one's community."

Really? Kid can play.
Ronald Koeman has told Barcelona youngster Riqui Puig that he should look for a new club this season as he will not be counting on him.

I’m unqualified and admittedly clueless on the best way to deal with this (we all are), but have wondered for some time if the latter would be the sensible and most manageable way forward? 🤷🏼‍♂️
Do we try to eliminate virus from population, which is a) impossible, b) ruinous c) destructive to society, and d) will end up costing lives? Or do we target measures at vulnerable communities, which is a) do-able b) allows normal life to resume and c) will actually save lives?

"The country’s become increasingly more divided. Everything’s more extreme, everything’s way to the right or way to the left when the truth is most of us are quite sensible and like to be somewhere in the centre" — @GaryLineker thetimes.co.uk/edition/news/g…

The Bobby Robson documentary on Netflix is great for loads of reasons. Robson was a beautiful man and his warmth and integrity shine through. But it's worth watching alone for the short Ronaldo section. What a fucking player
Replying to @BeardedGenius
Without injuries he would have been the best Ronaldo.

Can't believe how much the ones in Notts have gone up in recent years.
Replying to @cox_tom @mattforde
That’s their problem right there. When you bury Kings under car parks, you gotta go down not up.

I find it so weird that they decided to bury Richard III under a car park in Leicester. Nottingham is only a short distance away from there and has far better car parks.
Replying to @cox_tom @mattforde
Think the pay and bury car parks are a tad cheaper in Leicester. 👍🏻

In reply to @GaryLineker
This is poor, Gary. Inaccurate, disparaging and patronising. I’m sure you were the subject of proposed moves/bids which never materialised.
Replying to @garbosj
No, it’s a world full of made up nonsense.

Tough start to the season for @FCBayernEN who didn’t score a single goal in the last 5 minutes of their 8 nil opening day victory in the @Bundesliga_EN.

Bale announcement delayed whilst Spurs prepare the stadium. pic.twitter.com/0L6IoEgBKJ

Announcement needs to be imminent if he’s to get 18 holes in before dark.
Gareth Bale is at Tottenham Hotspur's training ground as he nears a return to the club on loan.

Correspondingly, if you read that your club is trying to sign someone + they don’t, it doesn’t mean it was mere rumour or guesswork. It’s a business deal which requires many hurdles to be cleared...it can fall down at any stage

Class act from a truly high class footballer. Superb and important signing for @LFC. I presume it’s Liverpool, if not it would be one hell of a wind-up.

It was a great strangeness being inside the lappet of a giant Matt Hancock’s coat. Not least because among the skittles, Panini stickers and expired condoms, there was another Michael Gove wearing naught but trunks fashioned from lint. pic.twitter.com/ClKauLEipS

how very dare you
Replying to @jcorrigangolf
Unless it’s you, of course.

A fact: if you read rumours that your club are interested in signing a player, and the purported transfer doesn’t happen, it does not automatically mean that your club has failed in their attempt to sign said player. The vast majority of rumours are rubbish or complete guesswork.

Seems clear that both @GarethBale11 and @Thiago6 are both coming to the Premier League. Great news for both Spurs and Liverpool....and indeed for all fans of the game in this country. Wonderful players. 👏🏻👏🏻

Relax. Spurs never let you down.

In reply to @GaryLineker
Gary, you're a legend...but why do you feel it's necessary to follow that comment with anyone being part of "the problem?" You're talking to a minority
Because I’d seen a helluva lot of negative, nasty tweets.

Credit it where it’s due: Jacob Rees-Mogg has great bants.

We lost my Dad last night. Dave Wahl was a truly great guy who influenced me and so many others in a big way. Thankful to all our family and friends in the soccer community who have been so supportive today. 🙏

Very sorry to hear that, Grant. Condolences.

Credit where it’s due: that is an incredible victory for Australia. Stunning batting from Carey and Maxwell. Great game of cricket. 👏🏻👏🏻

What a game of cricket this is.

It’s taken until now for us to recover, this season could be the first for over 30 years that people don’t want to play us
