Very similar to a Korean player attempt against India in one of the recent matches. Cool tactic

They are a class team with a great system. Not easy to match their standards. Australia is a sporting superpower… there are many deep-rooted reasons behind this

India needs commiserations. Not congratulations. It was a pulverizing debacle. This silver is gifted, not won
Replying to @TeaChaiLa
A silver is not a gift. A team plays and fights hard to reach the final… just because the team lost the final, it does not mean they don’t deserve plaudits to reach there. It’s sport, one game does not define a team

India will be very disappointed with 0-7 loss to Australia in #CommonwealthGames2022 🏑 final. A silver is good after having missed a medal at the 2018 Glasgow edition but the Oz domination will hurt. Congrats to Australia for 7th straight gold & to India for silver. #hockey

Achanta Sharath Kamal picks up men’s singles table tennis gold. Absolutely class! @sharathkamal1 Legendary player 🏓👌👌

India play Australia in #CommonwealthGames22 men’s #hockey final today. Australia have won all six golds since the inception of the Games in 1998. India, twice silver medallists, have grown & improved considerably in last few years & winning the gold will be huge.

P.V. Sindhu and Lakshya Sen 🏸 set for badminton singles finals today, while the evergreen table tennis star @sharathkamal1 🏓will look to sign off this edition of the Commonwealth Games with the singles gold.

We are very happy with the medal. We got a surprise reception from the men’s #hockey team after reaching the Village and now, we have asked them to get us a gold tomorrow: Women’s hockey captain @savitahockey after India clinched bronze in #CommonwealthGames2022 #womenshockey

Tears of joy & celebration as Indian women’s #hockey 🏑 team clinch bronze at #CommonwealthGames2022. NZ pushed them hard but India never stopped believing in themselves and fought so, so hard. Proud of you girls, captain @savitahockey & coach @jannekeschopman. Great feat!

2010 CWG was not painful except for the 8-0 score line. Australia were world no. 1 then and India ranked around 9-10. In fact, it was the turnaround moment for indian hockey with the silver that they earned at Delhi 2010, a first at the CWG for men’s hockey
Yes, the cricket loss in 2003 was a huge disappointment

India against Australia in CWC 2003 final and Hockey team in CWG 2010 most painful and unforgettable defeats.

India enter the #CommonwealthGames2022 men’s hockey final 🏑🥅 with 3-2 win over South Africa in semis. This is the third time India have reached the final after 2010 Delhi and 2014 Glasgow. Next semi-final: Australia vs England. #hockey #india

Very disturbing news reports coming in regards to Indian #hockey player #BirendraLakra.

Rightly said, Adnan… exactly my thought 🏑
Agreed, this format is going through an experimental phase. Let's give it a chance nothing wrong with trying new things. If it doesn't work like the 9a side format, then fine. Most Asian countries are struggling with hockey developing n I think it will help them a lot

Yes, that is the real thing… fundamental changes. And that is where the success of failure of this format lies. Only time will tell

In reply to @HarpreetLamba88
Definitely up for anything that improves the popularity of the sport, but only to the point the traditional 11v11 is not in danger

In reply to @TeaChaiLa
People don’t realize that T20isation of hockey has already happened - off side and 4 quarters are examples. T20 can be compared to modern hockey when compared to what was played 20 years ago. I am not sure if more fundamental changes are needed
Replying to @TeaChaiLa @RomanSportz and 2 others

In reply to @RomanSportz
Hitting shots over 20 mins from long distance requires skills. Sure. But playing with grit for 60 mins over a large field in coordination with 10 others in a bid to build attacks also requires skills. I personally prefer second type of skills. Period.
Replying to @TeaChaiLa @RomanSportz and 2 others
Sure, please enjoy the second type of skills. We all do 😊🙃 but if hockey can get new fans who like to watch five-a-side, it would be good too

In reply to @HarpreetLamba88
Don't think it's a right comparison, as here everything is changed..they shd atleast have attacking circle here and increased field size to what was in YOG
Replying to @ron_chry
Yes, it’s totally different. But a new step has been taken. In my opinion, one should be open-minded enough to see how it goes and give it sometime. I liked few things about this format

In reply to @HarpreetLamba88
T20 only reduces duration - not ground size, team size or scoring rules. 5s fundamentally changes hockey. There is a reason why T20 is successful and HK Sixes, 8 a side, MAX cricket and double wicket cricket are not. Changing basics of a game ruins it all.
Replying to @TeaChaiLa @Rnb129
Yes, agreed… I said the same above. But I am still happy with the experimentation of 5-a-side hockey as every game has a shorter version. It may or may not work, but if one doesn’t try, how does one know?!

In reply to @iamtegtaharsh
They did! Match ended an hour ago

In reply to @iamtegtaharsh
Even in T20s, initially everyone said it’s a batter’s game. But now see, who’s winning them matches
