Mr Mashaba, why is the land question not on here? Without it, you're playing marbles sir. #saspeaks pic.twitter.com/sPzGEeJCSM

Very important. I will add it to the list. Thank you for bringing it to my attention.

In reply to @HermanMashaba
You have my attention, just wish you had removed the first part of your video. That Mandela khumbaya vibe is so far removed from todays mood in the country. We need a different kind of definition for inclusiveness and diversity that speaks to todays problems and issues
Replying to @siyand26
That is exactly my point though. The hope we felt in 1994 has faded. We need people to drive a conversation about fixing the country and restoring that sense of optimism.

In reply to @HermanMashaba
We will join the conversation, my key issues of interest as a South African are as follows; 1. White Domination Of The Judiciary 2. Dominance & Economic Discrimination Of The 4 Apartheid Banks 3. Land 4. Crime 5. Transform Local Government Election to direct representation
Replying to @BraFana5
Great inputs - make sure you add them on the site: thepeoplesdialogue.org.za

Today, I am launching The People’s Dialogue, to begin an engagement with South Africans about forging a better future for our country. We need hope, we need to believe again. Join the conversation at thepeoplesdialogue.org.za #SASpeaks pic.twitter.com/zfL0hgUM5m

If we rely on our political parties for solutions, we will never succeed. This is why I believe in a people-driven engagement, focussing on turning South Africa around. #SASpeaks

I believe in South Africa & South Africans. I will not give up and neither must you. This week’s chaos shows that SA needs real solutions - not politics as usual. #SASpeaks
Replying to @HermanMashaba
Our political system is broken, but, South Africa is full of potential. We want to believe, we want hope for a better future & we, the people know what needs to be done to fix our country. #SASpeaks

What’s your take on price of coal at Eskom and IPP’s?
Replying to @pitzom
IPPs are crucial to building a stable energy supply that doesn’t rely on Eskom, that pays too much for coal as a result of State Capture.

In reply to @HermanMashaba
Lol more talks. We have been talking since 1994
Politicians have been talking but they have not been listening. I want to hear from you - what do we need to do to save SA? #SASpeaks

I thought you are taking a long well deserved holiday Mr Mayor?🤔🤔🤔
Replying to @GweezytheTiger
Who can rest when the country needs saving?

In reply to @HermanMashaba
We had so many conversations that we even forgot what was the fight for
Replying to @MagabePetersen
The fight is about making sure we leave a South Africa for our children that is better than the one we inherited. We can never give up on that fight.

In reply to @HermanMashaba
Hopefully it will include leaders with backbone, integrity and those leaders not trying to be rockstars?
Replying to @DeeWilshire
Leaders without a backbone and integrity are not leaders. This cannot be about individuals - this must be about South Africa.

In reply to @HermanMashaba
Have you spoken to @MamphelaR?!?!? We already had a dialogue with her couple years back. She heard but didn’t listen & formed @AgangSA. Listen carefully.....we don’t need another ego project, we need a united opposition as a credible alternative. That’s all you need to know 👍🏼
Replying to @MzansiBeliever @MamphelaR and 1 otherfalse
Agreed. This is not about me, this is about our future. I want our people to lead the conversation about saving SA.

In reply to @HermanMashaba
Too much talk, know that anc needs to go.
Replying to @moonland1967777
My thoughts exactly. I am tired of discussions led by politicians where they hear but don’t listen. I want to listen to ordinary SAns - let the people be heard!

In reply to @HermanMashaba
I thought you were going to rest until next month. An idea will give you a sleepless night my brother.

We know You are for the people Ntate Mashaba, you don't necessarily have to be a politician to change their lives. Politics have failed people dismally.. You're not hungry for power but hungry to serve people with dignity and pride.. We appreciate you! Viva Mashaba Viva
Replying to @PearLerato
Fully agree. That’s why we need ordinary citizens to lead a conversation about saving SA. Politics will never solve our problems.

In reply to @HermanMashaba
How does one become a part of that Mr Mashaba?this is what I always said because in SA they don't ask questions about why people do things, they just make their assumption.. This is long overdue..take what happening with Our African brothers they don't ask..
Replying to @MaraMbewu
The conversation starts tomorrow. Be ready. #SASpeaks

In reply to @HermanMashaba
Mr. Mashaba can you please give us more details on the platform you are referring to. We would like to work with you and volunteer. Is this a political party or a consultative forum towards building a party? How do we engage
Replying to @Edwin44408813
Details to follow with launch tomorrow. #SASpeaks

In reply to @HermanMashaba
Time for dialogue is over,we all know whats wrong with south africa, its the anc and current opposition. We need a people's forum to start acting,

In reply to @HermanMashaba
Your party should be based on politics and principles and not popcorn approach, here now and gone tomorrow. Dont be misguided by the euphoria Mayor
Replying to @FidelGastro187
I completely agree. This is not about me. This is about building a better South Africa for future generations.

In reply to @HermanMashaba
You should hav not resigned bt you chose to. You were my best mayor bt you gave up on us already
Replying to @khethagamula
I have not given up. We need to save South Africa.

I am in. Can I contribute right away. Let Taxpayer choose 7/3 which department they want to send the 3 to. This way we can rewards department with clean audit to be given preference. EG parents with children at Varsity can sponsor higher education etc.
Replying to @ESNK
Great idea. Please give your input on our platform tomorrow. #SASpeaks

I have not, and will not, give up on South Africa. Tomorrow I will be launching a platform for the people of our Country to join a dialogue about what needs to be done to save South Africa. #SASpeaks

I agree. It was the same system that got me elected. The past three years have opened my eyes to just how broken that system is. As long as decisions are made in dark rooms by political parties, the interest of residents will come second. This is what needs to change to save SA.
In reply to @HermanMashaba
Technical they had no say when you were elected as well. I am a fan but the process is exactly the same for the incumbent as well as the former. What we should lobby for is the law that govern how coalition are constituted and formed.

What happened yesterday in Joburg is deeply disappointing. The 5 million residents of the City had no say in who got elected. Politics is not working for people. We need an approach that puts residents first.

It’s clear to see that the DA was ready to push me out of government. As I said in my resignation speech, “It is not my nature to hang around to be pushed.” Those DA councillors who voted for Makhubo, were clearly lined up to vote for the ANC’s Motions of No Confidence in October
The fact that some DA Councillors elected to vote for Makhubo over their own candidate, demonstrates why I had to leave the DA. The DA of today is clearly not the DA that I joined - not when they support an allegedly corrupt person. pic.twitter.com/4u0jlLcRsi

Over the past 3 years I have met some of the most amazing people, who have shown me why I can’t give up on South Africa. South Africa is worth saving, and that’s why #ImStaying. RETWEET if you’re staying too 🇿🇦

From a personal experience, my own daughter who dearly loves SA, but studied and now works in the USA, is worried about her future in our country under ANC rule.
In reply to @HermanMashaba
More black kids than white currently moving overseas! i don't blame them, under the ANC / EFF, this place has become a typical African backwater!

That is true. We need to reverse this trend before it is too late. We want our people back
In reply to @HermanMashaba
South African are also scattered all over the world and the great migration has only just begun

Sanctions brought the Apartheid regime down. Sanctions are an effective tool to destroy evil
In reply to @HermanMashaba
Mayor, I disagree with your on one point. Why is the World willing to starve Zimbos on account of politicians they can't even remove from power? What is the objective and time line of sanctions and what is the way out should they not achieve that or impact those not intended?

It is so sad when people always look at life in a negative perspective. As an example, just research how many years and attempts it took Thomas Edison to get the light bulbs we enjoy today. Success doesn’t come easy, if anything
In reply to @HermanMashaba
Looking like Mbhazima Shilowa and Terror Lekota in good times. Hope history doesn't repeat itself.

The evil tragedy of Zimbabwe contributed to a large extent to my entry to public service. Zimbabwe used to be a real hope for Africa. Mugabe and ZANU just destroyed it overnight
In reply to @HermanMashaba
I hope Mr Mayor you will protect your country from greediness and not let anyone mess your country.Look at us scattered all over in places where we are not wanted while our rich country is being looted.Keep fighting you are an inspiration

It is painful & deeply hurtful to watch politicians subject their innocent people to such suffering, in a country just few years ago was a breadbasket of Southern Africa. Zimbabweans are now scattered all over the world

Exceptional couple. I am proud of them.
Herman..how do you feel about MmusiMaimane's white wife....

To the 33,000 employees of @CityofJoburgZA, and the 5 million residents of the City, THANK YOU for the opportunity to serve. Please read my End of Term Report Here: bit.ly/34wCQYe

Sir. Please bring in young graduates to be part of your party, the pensioners don't want to give the youth a chance. Be that change and bring in the youth. The kids are hungry to make changes in SA. We've been under ANC for too long with no results and empty promises.

Become an Ambassador in your own right to wake our people up, otherwise we are all and country gone

I’m worried that Mmusi will do to you what @Enghumbhini did to @MTLekota simply because he comes from a high leadership position and believes he will have a greater mass pull. He would be better positioned to canvass on metro level. @Dr_MakhosiKhoza may add good value.
Replying to @GaddafiALincon @MmusiMaimane and 3 others
Please provide your input as soon as the platform goes live next week. We don’t have answers to complex South African problems

What an exceptional time spent with @MmusiMaimane last night. The man is still more than committed & charged up to serve our country. We invite your participation in The People's Dialogue from next week

This is the man @DrAceMagashule proudly announces as the @MYANC Mayoral Candidate for Joburg. Reading this you will see the ANC is making a mockery of ethical and moral leadership.

It is beyond belief and disgraceful for the ANC to put this candidate forward as a public representative. People of Johannesburg deserve better
“[Geoff] Makhubo used his company, Molelwane Consulting, as a front to get his hands on the City of Joburg’s fund pool that was set aside for debt repayments.”

This is the man the ANC wants to lead Joburg. #FunziForMayor thesouthafrican.com/news/geoff-mak…

As I wake up this morning, unemployed, still feeling exhausted, ready to take a deserved break, please allow me to express my deepest appreciation to the 5m residents of @CityofJoburgZA, 58m people of SA, 7b people of the world and media for this privilege of serving my country

Had the great privilege of serving with this great South African ⁦@HermanMashaba⁩. He has served the citizens of Joburg with distinction. We now charter a way forward where future generations can be served by individuals who place citizens first. Ke a leboga Kgosi.

Thank you Eldos for your friendship and support during my tenure serving your community. Keep up the good work
