@JustinTrudeau - we have enough to worry about during #COVID19. Please cancel rent before April 1st and make sure no one loses their home.

The fact that Philadelphia has an empty hospital that's being held hostage by a financier and all the authorities can do is kinda shrug and say "aw well too bad huh" is perhaps the clearest example right now of how our culture prioritizes the sanctity of capital before human life

It’s an important question. Certain NFPs receive funding specific to programs. They don’t have a drop in “business” per se.

I'm also seeking clarity on whether this is net revenue inclusive any assumed COVID related costs or if it's simply gross revenues?

Its not QP and we don't appreciate you running out the clock we have with Ministers with spin.
The answers I and many others were searching for only became known to the public today and I had to read it from Akin in a tweet from a press conference not a conference call.

He's some feedback on those calls then Adam unless you specifically have direct answers for MP's on the call you may want to consider taking up less space and allowing opposition MP's to ask the critical questions of government required to help us serve our constituents.

An important development for the NFP sector qualifications for the wage subsidy program. What I'm still unclear about is how NFP determines revenue drops in the same way that small businesses can?

I'm hopeful that Gov websites provide better clarity than they currently do now.
So whether you employ 10 or 1000, whether you are for-profit or an NGO or a charity, if revenues have dropped 30% or more, the employer will be able to get a subsidy of up $847/week for each employee.

In reply to @MatthewGreenNDP
We regularly update your caucus... about steps we are working on...not through twitter. I appreciate the advocacy. Details of a comprehensive approach to the Non-profit/charitable sector are coming forward. We’re working with sector on details. Some action taken, more to follow

People and organizations I work with here in Hamilton Centre are panicked. Your website are already outdated and are what provides the public with the most current info. Reports like this create uncertainty given that NFP sector does have revenues. twitter.com/davidakin/stat…
Wage subsidy will be paid to any employer that has seen business revenues drop by 30% of more regardless of size of business. Wage subsidy will be capped at $847/week. Backdated to March 15.

If they attest they have earned $5K in past yr and attest they have had gone 14 consecutive days with $0, they can get CERB.
If it is proven that one of these claims are false, then people will be penalized on the other side of this, through their 2020 tax return (>1 yr from now)

Also are you confirming that the government has been working on a forgivable capital loan program for the non profit sector as per my letter? If so that would be very welcomed news particularly for our essential services NGOs.
For reference this gov site was updated *3days* ago from which I drew the information from my letter requests. So there’s that. canada.ca/en/services/bu

Well over a week ago when you announced the 10% subsidy or after you finally took our lead on the 75% Adam? You may also want to update the appropriate websites. On this COVID site it mentions both small businesses in some sections and NPS in others but both in this section. Why pic.twitter.com/T8sZaJ4B3P

As honestly as it can be said, this needs more money. Groceries are one thing but menstrual products, diapers, formula and hygiene is proving to be a cost.

Please either donate or tell a friend to tell a friend however best to spread and put money behind this.

The first of the month is fast approaching & that means rent is due

Many people don't know how they are going to pay their bills

They need help in the next few days, not weeks

The government needs to work with all levels of government to pause rent, mortgage & utility payments

Still seems like it’s questionable. Language means a lot right now. I’ll be listening closely. And yes, capital campaigns and general fundraising is blown for the next 12 months at least.

I actually think you are right and they added the details inclusive on the NFP sector. In this crisis a day is like a week and things are unfolding really quickly. It's likely that they updated the original site. So I'm going with your discovery as my letter is already days old

Great to see they’ve added it. Now if love to see then double down on the other policy considerations we’ve requested including the matching of donations. Lord knows that fundraising will be abysmal for the foreseeable future.
