i'm sorry is the Illinois basketball student section and the Iowa basketball program feuding on Twitter right now? wut? 🧐

That spin is ridiculous. Not much Darnell Wright could really do there
Replying to @zachtnt
Darnell's had a really nice week so far

Tennessee's Darnell Wright got Iowa State's Will McDonald right before this.

One of the only times I saw someone get Wright this week: McDonald's spin is, we'll say, A LOT of fun.

You agree with Jeremiah having Keion White at number 8 on his new big board? That seems way out of left field - absolute highest I have seen him is mid-round 2 on other boards. Admittedly, there are rsharp risers every year, but DJ isn't usually that divergent on the top guys.
Yeah, that's def the highest anyone's been on White I think. He's a freakish athlete, undeniable there -- 285 with crazy speed and good size, all that. I ... need to watch more tho lol apparently

Bowling Green edge Karl Brooks (top 5 nat'l in pressures this year) has worked inside and out this week at the Senior Bowl

6-3, 303. DE/DT (rushed in 2-point some at BG). Really interesting dude. @BG_Football

UT-Chattanooga's Cole Strange was a standout at the Senior Bowl last year. This year, it's UTC's McClendon Curtis. Has played LG and RG, also a little tackle today.

Nice work here (RG) vs. Wisconsin DT Keeanu Benton in 9 on 7 from Curtis (6-5, 331, 35-inch arms 👀)

The NFL’s Dolph Ziggler?

In reply to @nickbaumgardner
Now I need a scouting report comping Max's potential to Jim Duggan's slot in 1980's WWF. What's the NFL equivalent to an over, solid mid-card act? Daniel Jones?
Replying to @Justin_Rogers
The NFL’s Dolph Ziggler?

Few nice throws from Duggan in 2-minute vs pressure, too. Feels like he had a better day today.
Back to back ropes from MaxSaw Duggan in 11 on 11. Heating up?

Duggan’s best moments this week have been in team periods. No surprise. But also needed. He has to shine there.

Well he was — then he got Will McDonald’d
Tennessee OT Darnell Wright is having a strong afternoon in 1 on 1s and in team.

This fits with my read on the situation also RE Engstrand.

Justin additionally reporting Duce Staley has a shot at OC in Carolina and will be closer to family.
Replying to @nickbaumgardner
The loss of Staley is a big one for the Lions. He had the temperature of the locker room for Dan Campbell from the jump. Few are better at that in football right now imo. Campbell has guys on staff who can help fill that void but Duce was the best. No question.

Ronnie Bell: Moving well. Was one of the fastest on the field again today via GPS — play strength remains a concern, though. Having trouble with some of the more physical guys here — but he def grinds.
In reply to @nickbaumgardner
How’s Ronnie looking? Hoping the Bears take a flyer on him late. We need WR’s and I imagine our early picks will be allocated to the trenches.

Michigan State’a Jayden Reed and Stanford’s Michael Wilson have been the best, most complete WRs on the National side — Reed topped 20 mph again today. Blazing people.

Michigan OT Ryan Hayes was at both RT and LT this am. Had a pretty similar day to yesterday — up and down.

He’s a HS tight end who has only ever been an LT in college. We’ll see what Wednesday brings.

In reply to @Justin_Rogers
Additionally, Tanner Engstrand is still with the team after the Steve Heiden hire. Engstrand will focus more on the pass-game coordinator role. That would imply a closer audition as a possible Ben Johnson replacement if he gets a head job in 2024.

In reply to @nickbaumgardner
How does that even need mentioned? Are you saying some people look at FOUR years and thousands of snaps and call it a….fluke…?
Replying to @HerkyCyclone
Doesn’t need to be mentioned and I meant nothing by mentioning it … he’s a great player not sure why you’re hot at me.

Ga Tech’s Keion White was the fastest DL here today — topped out at 17.38 mph at 6-5, 286

Better morning today for BYU OT Blake Freeland. Still not consistent enough. But better. Maybe the most athletic tackle here — the flashes are nice. The rest is concerning.

Ah. So I guess we shall see.
Ohio State tackle Dawand Jones is not participating today at Senior Bowl practice. He hasn’t pulled out of the game and is being evaluated to see if he’s healthy enough to return this week, according to Senior Bowl executive director Jim Nagy.

I don’t see Dawand Jones out here this am. Was very good yesterday — did he call it?

Michigan’s Olu Oluwatimi getting some guard reps this am.
Replying to @nickbaumgardner
Team reps at OG feel pretty important for Oluwatimi at this point — he’s been able to hang in with power enough at center but he’s having trouble with speed some. His physical wins are more seals/effective blocks than they are dominant. Needs to show some more here today.

Curtis still doing work in 9 on 7. Very physical with good feet @GoMocsFB
UT-Chattanooga OG McClendon Curtis just had a terrific pass pro rep vs Wisconsin’s Keeanu Benton.

Benton’s the best DT in this session. Impressive stretches this week for Curtis.

He and Cody Mauch are rotating now.

Good start to the day in competitive for Northwestern DL Adetomiwa Adebawore — couple dominant wins inside.

Update on the Colts' coaching search:
» a case for each of the seven finalists
» based on what I know, I don't believe Jeff Saturday is the front-runner, despite what other reports have said

🤣long time supporter of the event it seems

Auburn edge Derick Hall (6-3/256) had the fastest top mph of any DL yesterday at the Senior Bowl (19.12 mph 👀)— Riley Moss, a corner, led all defenders yesterday at 19.7.

ric flair and dierdorf at a bar sounds like a @ShutdownFullcas bit
Dan has, as you might imagine, a real strong Rolodex in such matters — not sure there’s a famous person he hasn’t had a few with at one time or another. Legend of legends lol

In reply to @nickbaumgardner
I have like no followers and he started following me a while ago after I tweeted, or maybe retweeted, something once that was rather positive. I think he's just looking for some light on this rather dark platform. Still kinda cool though, except when you see how many he follows.

I’ll take it, Mike! Tho if he’s up for a Twitter Q&A I’m also in lol

will have you all know John Cena was a D3 All-American center at Springfield College in southern Mass — it always comes back to football pic.twitter.com/6kyJ6eqrTd

Ric Flair has long told a tale about how he was going to go to Michigan to play football but got kicked out in the 60s. I once asked Dan Dierdorf to confirm this — DD couldn’t confirm Flair was ever part of a team at UM, but did recall tipping a few with him and Jim Mandich.

Senior Bowl practice notes from day one here from @dpbrugler and me. Thoughts on:

- Dawand Jones
- Jayden Reed
- Eric Gray
- Will McDonald
- whole bunch more

This is kind of left field, but I have issues with calling a guy "the greatest player" because football has so many different ways to be great at it. When it comes to Brady do you think I'm being pedantic? I have no problem calling him the great QB of all time.
Replying to @JamelleCooper
No way. I don’t know if anybody can declare ‘a greatest player’ of all time in a game like football for the reasons you just said. That’s too much. And has been for a while — Most successful/highest achieving? Sure.

Will take Tom Brady at his word.

And then put this into context: I’m about to be 40. The adult version of me doesn’t know an NFL without this guy playing in it and that’s pretty insane.

1 of 1, as they say.

Unrelated news this AM: The sunburn on my arm no longer feels like the fires of hell. So onward and upward.

Dawand Jones says hello (and goodbye) to Andre Carter

BYU WR Puka Nacua has adjusted to everything and probably has the best morning of the WRs here.

QBs have been adventurous. Nacua’s been very crisp.
Replying to @nickbaumgardner
Great adjustment to the ball here from Puka Nacua, who almost snagged another one of these in 1 on 1s. Held onto this one.

Florida OG O'Cyrus Torrence.

That'll work, boss

In reply to @nickbaumgardner
Is that actually connected to GPS satellites? That must be something else?
that part's above my pay grade 🤣

In reply to @nickbaumgardner
I’m fascinated that GPS is accurate enough for that. Cool stuff.
been a big thing the last several years in many sports -- really big in basketball. They'll put a chip in a guy's jersey and track everything he does at practice -- how much he moves, how much energy he's using, etc. Very cool indeed -- wish they'd let us see more data tho🤣🤣
