Thanks again to all the NHS staff who allowed us in to tell this story.

If you missed the programme you catch it on the ITV Hub.

I’ll be back in a couple of weeks after a summer break 👋
EXCL: This is the NHS as you’ve never seen it.

19 patients crammed on trolleys in corridors unable to get into a full A&E.

92 year-old May has been stuck on hers for 3 days.

Outside, ambulances queue, delayed getting to other calls.

Patients have died waiting. #ITVTonight pic.twitter.com/MJGBNsCoTz

Another hard hitting documentary Paul.Thank you for highlighting and showing how real the pressure the Ambulance service/ hospital emergency service is under this is immense. It made me think if my autistic son was one of those patients on a trolley for hours so worrying 😱

This is coming up next on @itv at 8:30pm. Many more shocking scenes of the unprecedented pressure on our NHS and the heartbreaking stories of those who’ve died following delays.

Sorry I didn't mean to come across as taking issue with your tweet. It's more the ignorance of the crisis by @sajidjavid and the rest of government for a year despite thousands coming to harm. The broadcast is great and good the NHS let you in. Action needed.

Good report. But this is the NHS as we have seen it since at least June 2021. Hopefully increased media spotlight will lead to some bloody action. Thousands are being severely harmed every month and have been for a year now.
Replying to @ShaunLintern
Thanks Shaun. My point is that the NHS has never volunteered for us to see it before on this level - this is the first proper broadcast footage of the severity of the current crisis. Many people will (and have been) shocked by the images.

Paramedic and GMB union deputy branch secretary Paul Turner tells Ben that it is 'extremely difficult' and the pressure is 'horrendous.'

He explains how people are leaving the NHS to find alternative work.

Nadine Dorries tells @GMB that reports that she was asked by Liz Truss’s campaign to tone down her personal attacks on Rishi Sunak are “totally fabricated”.

She gives Boris Johnson 10/10 “which is the only thing Rishi and I agree on at the moment”.

I’ve written for today’s @Telegraph on the unprecedented pressures we witnessed inside the NHS for our @ITVTonight documentary.

Emergency service delays have hit record levels. It's meant that people haven't been able to get the treatment they need.

Keir Starmer responds to our shocking scenes from inside the NHS tonight
.@ITVTonight exposes the appalling reality of our NHS under the Tories.

This Government’s neglect is costing people their lives.

Labour would protect the NHS, invest in its staff and shorten waiting lists so patients receive the care they deserve.

In reply to @IsabelHardman
I know I keep banging on about this (on which more in a book coming out next year 🤪) but some of the things that need to be done are not mysteries lurking in some long forgotten scrolls. Social care, for instance.
Replying to @IsabelHardman
Social care is so under rated in all the debate about this. We saw for ourselves how the backlog in hospitals can be traced all the way to the shortage in social care. Waiting for an ambulance? It’s cos someone else is waiting for social care.

The last time footage like this was broadcast from the NHS the politicians in government became so worried that public consent for the health service would disappear that they embarked on programme of radical reform, spending increases and targetss

Sadly not just a problem confined to one area of England. This is a UK wide issue that’s adversely impacting our patients and our staff too despite the best efforts of everyone who are doing the best they can in truly challenging circumstances.

Leadership teams picking up on our horrifying hospital footage this evening as the NHS begins to feature in the debate 👇
Introducing the Health & Social Care Levy was a politically tough thing for us to vote through, but @RishiSunak took the bold decision to provide £17.4bn in funding the NHS needed to start recovering after Covid and bust those backlogs.

That’s why I’m #Ready4Rishi (1/2)

Or the fact they spent more time doing tik tok dances than treating patients and the fact that bosses wanted to sack a large number of the workforce due to their vaccine status

This is particularly vital viewing at a time when there is virtually no mention of the NHS in the contest to be the next Prime Minister. Rather than investment in public services, the debate is about tax cuts. Suspect this footage may well spark a new conversation.

The chaos at the hospital front door is also caused by backlogs all the way to the back door. At Warrington Hospital 136 patients were happily ready to be discharged from the wards on the day we visited. But severe shortages of social care mean some wait 6 weeks or more.

Admissions at A&E are up 10% on last year. Nobody can say for sure why, but likely that missed treatments during Covid plus the huge backlog of patients deteriorating on long waiting lists is playing a part.

A) you’re right, it’s currently just a Global Health Emergency. B) the guidance is to use condoms, as cited. So how is that bizarre? The thread was lazily pointing the finger at the government. Condoms are something that individuals can do. What’s bizarre is seeming to oppose.

I think people should take their guidance from the NHS and the expert charity in sexual health you’re replying to in this thread, rather than your guess work.
