Deputy Mayor @liberalneil, @prestoncouncil Chief Executive Adrian Phillips and I were privileged to join the Sikh community today for the raising of the Nishan Sahib to celebrate #Gurpurab2021. A big thankyou to Guru Nanak Gurdwara for such a warm welcome.
 
This week our Deputy Head of Parks & Streetscene, Steve Daley, finally had his trip to London to receive his MBE from Prince William.

The Para Lions’ record cap holder, Stephen Daley received an MBE for his services to para football & futsal. Following 134 games for @England, Stephen now concentrates on coaching & developed a strong coaching team in the North West to improve opportunities for disabled players. pic.twitter.com/MRA19gOv6f

They are located outside of the Sun Hotel on Friargate, and the Evoque building on Church Street.

As a city with a large Muslim population it is imperative that we work hard to tackle division and ignorance and help people to understand our diverse communities and the importance it holds in people’s lives and celebrate the things that bring us together.
