Time’s up.
The internet is now being cut in Iran because they don’t want people to see things like this: a man slaps a woman and thinks he can calmly walk away. Where such actions were commonplace before, there are now dire consequences - significantly handed out by other men. pic.twitter.com/iQ2llURxLS

Hearing myself describe the recent experience of having my #wheelchair broken by an airline has me very emotional.

Disabled ppl deserve better from #airlines. We must fight for air travel reform.

That’s unfair. @TahirImran or any journalist doesn’t have to be in the field recently to follow events and form an analysis after a lifetime of experience and reporting from that very field. Are we always in the files when we’re in anchor’s studios?

My issue with this whole deal. There is a different kind of feminism ongoing in that part of the world and it doesn’t intersect with the west. It doesn’t all have to be “white washed”. Also have problems with some of our own painting the same narrative. Sorry not sorry.

I fear for their mental health. Clearly some under the surface diaspora trauma and systemic issues going on here. There is a certain frustration and lack of agency for many in the host countries. So you take it out where you can instead of fixing the systems where you live.

Erica, I suggested it was poor word choice. It is all horrible. My point was that in the big picture an acute episode with a hostile situation does not affect long-term personal and professional opportunity. That is the point. Please don't infer "minimizing". It is all bad.

You think consistent, relentless psychological, verbal, sexual & racial abuse does not affect long-term professional & personal opportunity?Have you studied the impacts of PTSD & psych ops on vulnerable grps?Or the statistics of it seeping offline? I would re-think your point, sir.
