In Great Falls this afternoon to talk to MTN’s @JSAmbarian about the bipartisan effort I led to stop the AIR Commission from closing VA clinics and limiting our vets’ access to care in Montana and across the country.

🇺🇸 Boosting American manufacturing
⛓️ Strengthening our supply chains
🥩 Combatting ag consolidation
💊 Making Rx drugs more affordable

These are some real solutions I've been working towards to drive down costs for Montana families and small businesses.

Absolutely—which is why I've called on President Biden to designate one. It's time we pay a final salute to Woody Williams and honor the spirit of our Greatest Generation in a way that’ll ensure their heroism is never forgotten.

Good news: @FEMA answered our call and approved Montana's request for individual assistance for folks impacted by flooding in Carbon, Park, and Stillwater counties. This relief is critically important for our recovery, and I'll work with FEMA to get it delivered to folks ASAP.

One year ago, we expanded veterans' access to mental health care with my bipartisan Sgt. Ketchum Rural Veterans Mental Health Act.

But our work isn't over. The Senate needs to pass the STRONG Veterans Act to connect more vets with the life-saving resources they need and earned.

We need to remove roadblocks standing in the way of our veterans and their families getting the quality education they deserve.

I introduced a bipartisan, bicameral bill to cut red tape at colleges & universities to better protect student veterans and their hard-earned benefits.

As we work to get the Treasure State's flooded communities back on their feet, we need to take steps to prevent this level of devastation down the road. That's why we're urging @FEMA to add Montana to a flood mitigation pilot program started by my bipartisan infrastructure law.

Woody Williams represented the very best of America as the last surviving WWII Medal of Honor recipient. I’m saddened to hear about his passing, but his heroic legacy will live on. My thoughts and prayers are with his family.

VA's Electronic Heath Record Modernization program isn't working for veterans, VA employees, or taxpayers.

I worked across the aisle to craft a bill that'll improve transparency so we can better provide our vets the care they earned. Proud we got this signed into law last week.

Living in rural America shouldn't mean less access to health care. That's why I led a group of my colleagues in urging the Administration not to adopt proposed policies that could worsen staffing challenges and lead to closures of skilled nursing facilities in our rural areas.

Closing down VA clinics and making care less accessible for our rural vets isn't how we uphold our obligations to those who’ve served. That’s why I’m proud to have led a bipartisan charge to keep the doors open to VA facilities in Montana and across the country.

No VA clinics will be shutting down in Montana. End of story.

Proud to lead this bipartisan coalition to keep our VA clinics open so we can ensure our rural veterans get the care they need close to home.
Breaking now: @DeptVetAffairs's Asset and Infrastructure Review (AIR) Commission is dead, after a bipartisan group of senators lead by @SenatorTester vows to block confirmation of commissioners because of concerns about the process. Details here: militarytimes.com/veterans/2022/…

Update: The Coram Post Office has secured a new contract and will remain OPEN. This is great news for the folks in northwest Montana who rely on it for essential mail services.
After hearing from concerned Montanans, I'm urging @USPS to do whatever it takes to ensure continued postal operations in Coram.

Folks in Montana rely on the Postal Service for everything from Rx drugs to Social Security benefits. They've got to be able to access these services. pic.twitter.com/kjLXSDHE1r

ICYMI: Last week, the House passed seven Senate-backed veterans bills as part of a comprehensive mental health package, including Chairman @SenatorTester’s bipartisan Post-9/11 Veterans’ Mental Health Care Improvement Act and REACH for Veterans Act.

Couldn't have said it better myself. The USS Montana is a powerful addition to the world's largest and most capable Navy, and it will defend us for decades to come.
“This powerful boat and her crew will protect our sea lanes, strengthen our maritime dominance, and contribute to strengthening our relationships with our allies and partners.” - @UNSECNAV Erik K. Raven on the commissioning of the attack submarine USS Montana

Today is #PTSD Awareness Day. Far too often, veterans return home suffering from invisible wounds of war, and it’s on us to connect them and their loved ones with the mental health care tools they need, including VA’s PTSD screening test: ptsd.va.gov/screen/

Seven years ago today, marriage equality became the law of the land.

But as attacks on LGBTQ+ rights continue, it's critical that we guarantee equal protection under the law no matter who folks are, or who they love.

We need to pass the Equality Act.

This week, our bill to investigate the policies used to harm Native American families and dismantle their cultures, languages, and religions received a hearing in the @IndianCommittee.

We've got to get to the bottom of these atrocities, and I'll keep working on this until we do.

My Blue Water Navy Vietnam Veterans Act, signed into law 3 years ago today, was a big step in getting Vietnam vets exposed to Agent Orange their earned VA care and benefits.

And when we get our PACT Act signed into law, we'll finally address toxic exposure for vets of ALL eras.

No judge or politician should be telling women how to live their lives or undermining their fundamental right to privacy.

Exciting news: Maureen Wicks has just been appointed Montana's Farm Service Agency Director.

Morb is a longtime champion of family farming, and I have no doubt she'll lead Montana FSA in the right direction as we work to support the producers who fuel our rural economies.

.@TRUCKINGdotORG is in town! Great to talk with Rachel from Miles City and other leaders in the trucking industry about our efforts to strengthen workforce development and cut red tape so our truckers can do their jobs and smooth the supply chain.

The State of Montana has submitted its request for individual assistance, which is critical relief for Montanans who've had homes or property destroyed by flooding. I urge @FEMA to approve this request right away so we can get folks the resources they need to recover and rebuild.

We're still assessing flood damage, but that doesn't mean we should sit around and wait to get relief. That's why @SteveDaines, @RepRosendale, and I are pushing federal agencies to get emergency resources to Montanans on the ground ASAP—securing $3M today to fix roads & bridges.

Always great meeting with the Poverello Center team from Missoula. These folks do great work year after year helping Montana vets get a safe roof over their heads, and I’m glad to partner with them as we work to end veterans homelessness.

Eric Feaver was a giant in Montana. No matter his role—servicemember, teacher, labor leader, or city official—Eric relentlessly served his fellow Montanans. Sharla and I are heartbroken by his passing, but his legacy will live on in the Last Best Place for generations.

Great to sit down with Bob Beckley, a smokejumper from Montana who was injured fighting wildfires in the Selway Bitterroot Wilderness. Thanks in large part to his advocacy, we secured the pay increases our wildland firefighters deserve.

Enjoyed seeing so many young Montanans on Capitol Hill today! This bright bunch is here for the Montana Electric Co-op Youth Tour, and I let them know that I'm a proud co-op member myself.

GOOD NEWS: Two of my bills to tackle ag consolidation just passed out of the Senate Ag Committee.

If we want to lower food costs at the grocery store and defend family farmers and ranchers, we need to get these bipartisan bills over the finish line. Let's get it done!

Consolidation in the agriculture industry is costing consumers and producers, so @SenBooker and I are teaming up to *tackle* it.

@SenatorTester and I hit hard, and we want to hit market concentration in the agricultural industry the hardest. So we introduced the Food and Agribusiness Merger Moratorium and Antitrust Review Act of 2022. Learn more here: booker.senate.gov/news/press/boo…

NEW: Today, the Administration announced a significant pay raise and increased support for federal wildland firefighters through my bipartisan infrastructure law. It's critical our first responders have what they need to keep us safe, so I'm pleased to see our call was answered.
In Montana, we know how hard firefighters work to keep our communities safe from wildfires.

With fire season on the horizon, I joined a bipartisan coalition today in urging the Biden Administration to increase pay for federal wildland firefighters to combat staffing shortages.

We need to use every resource we've got to ensure Montana recovers and rebuilds from severe flooding as quickly as possible. That's why I called on the @DeptVetAffairs to use its Fourth Mission authority to provide emergency support to Montanans impacted by this disaster.

Keeping Yellowstone National Park open is essential for our state's economy and for Montana's gateway communities to succeed.

Glad to see the federal government is acting quickly to re-open the park with the emergency resources that Montana's congressional delegation called for.

As we work to recover from the flooding disaster in Montana, @SteveDaines, @RepRosendale, and I are pushing the Forest Service and Bureau of Land Management to provide Montana guides and outfitters the flexibility and options needed to keep our outdoor recreation economy strong.

WEDNESDAY: Join me for a virtual town hall. I'll give an update on the flooding in Montana, discuss the progress we're making on toxic exposure in Washington, and answer your questions on these topics or any others.

In case you missed it—Two of my cattle markets bills are moving forward in the Senate this week.

We need to crack down on the big packers' unfair practices that are inflating food prices for consumers while bankrupting our producers. These bills do just that.

On Juneteenth, we celebrate a historic day in the fight towards equal justice for Black Americans. We still have work to do to rid our society of racism—and we commit ourselves to that goal not just today, but every day.

The greatest joy of my life is being a father and a grandfather. Wishing a Happy Father's Day to every Montana dad out there!

This week, the Senate put America's bravest first and began settling our debts to millions of toxic-exposed veterans and their families. This was decades in the making, and I was proud to fight alongside veterans and advocates to get it done.

In Kalispell this morning with Flathead and Lincoln County officials to assess the unique flooding challenges they're facing in the Flathead Valley. My heart goes out to the families and communities across the state who are dealing with this tragedy.

Today I joined ⁦@SenatorTester⁩ to survey the damage from the recent flooding disaster in Billings and Livingston. Our @FEMA team is on the ground and will be with Montanans throughout the duration of the recovery, and together we will rebuild.

Joined city and county officials in Livingston for a briefing with @FEMA_Deanne on the flooding and recovery effort in Park County. As the water recedes and we further assess the damage, we'll get a better idea of what's needed to make this community whole.

Grateful for the chance to show @FEMA_Deanne the flood damage at the Billings Water-Sewer Treatment Plant firsthand. The staff here was critical in saving the local water supply, and we'll work with them to make sure this vital facility is fully repaired.

Montana communities have been hit hard by flooding, and we need to get them the resources they need to recover as soon as humanly possible. That's why @SteveDaines, @RepRosendale, and I urged the Federal Highway Administration today to provide emergency relief funds immediately.

Great to be with veterans and community leaders at the Montana @VFWHQ 100th State Convention in Billings. These folks play a key role in helping our vets get the care and benefits they've earned—especially in our push to get our bipartisan toxic exposure bill passed.
