The discrepancy is between your projected tax payroll for SF for next season: $142.045M and @fangraphs which has them at $133M. That’s a $8.045M difference there. The Yankees on your site are at $206M projected payroll and on spotrac it’s $218M. A difference of $12M.

I think maybe you're confusing the cash payrolls and the luxury tax payrolls with those comparisons.
In reply to @bosummers28
Right. @spotrac I guess has a little bit different numbers. They have the Giants at $142M @bosummers28 which means they’d be $88M below the 1st luxury tax. Not $116M as @fangraphs is saying. That’s a pretty big jump in numbers, unlike the Yankees difference.

Pretty confident in our 40-man CBT numbers. Let me know if you see any discrepancies though.
The #Bills now have as many wins (2) in Detroit as the #Lions do this season.

inspired by my Giants-fan mother correctly saying “I don’t think anyone for the Giants has ever worn 99”:

highest uni number worn in Giants history is No. 87, by Dan Otero in 2012

that’s the only one of 80 or higher

The #Jaguars will take a non-guaranteed $412,460 flyer on Darrell Henderson for the next 7 weeks.
ICYMI: Jimmy Garoppolo might not be the 2023 QB of the #49ers - but he'll be somebody's Week 1 starter.

With an expiring contract, and a no-tag clause - what's next for Jimmy G financially?

if he's claimed, does that reduce the dead cap charge for the Rams by $412K?
Replying to @camdasilva
No, the Rams dead cap charge only contains the 11 weeks of salary, as it wasn't fully guaranteed. So either way, they freed up $412k of cap/cash this season.
Now that he's cleared waivers, RB Melvin Gordon can be signed at a veteran minimum $435,555 for the remainder of the 2022 season.

The 29-year old averaged 3.5 yards per carry in 10 games, fumbling 5 times for the #Broncos.
RB Darrell Henderson can be claimed on waivers today at $412,460 (non-guaranteed) for the remainder of the 2022 season.

He's a pending unrestricted free agent next March.

The #Brewers shed around $12M of payroll in sending OF Hunter Renfroe to the #Angels in exchange for 3 young pitchers.

In reply to @MoeMoton
I'd love to see @spotrac settle this by doing a market valuation for Carr. If it's below the non-guranteed part of Carr's contract (which is almost all of it) he's untradable, even if Carr agreed to wave the no trade clause.
$36.5M. He's set to make $75M over the next 2 seasons, or $37.5M per year. He's properly compensated right now.
Kyler Murray: $30M in 2022
Colt McCoy: $24M in 13 seasons
Melvin Gordon has $940,000 left on his 2022 salary, including per game active bonuses, should a team look to claim him off waivers.
Sources: The #Broncos make a move following Sunday’s loss, as Denver has waived veteran RB Melvin Gordon. A respected player who spent 3 years with the Broncos, Gordon’s fumbles proved too much. A fresh start for all parties.

what's the difference between transition tag and franchise tag
Replying to @bfkese
It's going to be around $4M-$5M less than the franchise tag. Transition tag allows teams to submit an offer sheet on him.

The ban on alcohol consumption at the World Cup applies only to fans at stadiums. “Beer, an official FIFA Champagne, and other select wines will still be available in luxury suites reserved for FIFA officials and other wealthy guests.”
Translation: The #Astros offer isn't even close to $44M per year.
Verlander on the Astros: “I'm not a negative person so I don't want to sit here and say I won't be back, because it's been a wonderful ride. I don't know what’s going to happen. …I'm just going to be in a situation where the market will dictate itself.”…
With no injured reserve, the #NBA offers very little roster relief for teams over the course of a season.

In some (few) cases, the Disabled Player Exception can be implemented.

What is it, how does it work, & who can apply? Keith Smith tells all:
Teoscar Hernandez is entering the final year of arbitration this winter, projected to cash around $14.5M for the 2023 season.

He has a no trade clause and said he won’t play for another team. Is there a chance he retires instead? I don’t see Raiders bringing him back
Replying to @sportsjunkie_11
The Raiders will need to release him by February 15th if they believe he won't accept a trade. That's when the $40.5M kicks in.
Will Derek Carr be tradable next March with $40.5M guaranteed ahead of him?
Eno Benjamin has a non-guaranteed $397,776 remaining on his 2022 salary, plus a non-guaranteed $1.01M base in 2023.
A roster surprise: Cardinals have informed RB Eno Benjamin - who started for them when James Conner was hurt this season - that they are releasing him, per source.
Should absolutely take the $19.65M qualifying offer...
One of the bigger swing and miss contracts in #MLB history officially comes to a close today, as the #Cubs release OF Jason Heyward despite future cash payments of:
