Black police- white victim-justice was swift and stiff. Another unintentional police shooting last night - White police and Black victim. What will justice serve this time? A police chief who had made a conclusion without discussing any facts? Will the police officer apologize?
Replying to @StevieWonder
Will the judge ignore leniency? Will this Black victim and his family in Minnesota see swift and stiff punishment? Does this system need reform? Do the math.

He was tried and convicted of 3rd degree murder and 2nd degree manslaughter. The judge refused any leniency and sentenced him to 12 1/2 years in prison. He was the first Minnesota police man to be convicted of an on duty shooting in recent years.

I remember an accidental police shooting in Minnesota four years ago. A Black police officer accidentally shot and killed a white woman. The police officer immediately stated it was an accident and apologized to the family.

Expired license plates?? We need police reform. Black people in this country are dying at the hands of police. Anybody confused?

How many more Black lives will be lost at the hands of police? This is why we need police reform.
Why is the police chief making a conclusion after he refuses to discuss details? We need police reform. A mistake???? How does this happen?? We need police reform.

Yesterday was April Fools but it feels like every day is now an April Fool’s Day. Nothing is funny when you are fooled about gun control, protection of voter’s rights and whether George Floyd’s behavior had anything to do with his death.

Fifty years later, and we’re still asking... WHAT’S GOING ON?

Today, Marvin Gaye would have been 82 years old. Who among us has not enjoyed at least one of his songs? Happy Heavenly Birthday, Marvin.

Now do you see the reality between Black people and the police where there is fear and a collective need to record encounters? It was George Floyd’s fault they had to kill him — blaming the victim. That is abuse.

My question is, will reliving this trauma in 2021 in these United States of America finally bring justice .....or not?

Tomorrow is Valentine’s Day, a day of love. Sadly I don’t believe there is enough love for this nation among some Senators, to convict the former President. A failure to defend democracy of this republic opens the door to further insurrections. The Universe is Watching Us.

I am heartbroken and astounded that this narcissistic and dangerous president would put lives in danger and encourage violent sedition against our government. That man is no longer able to serve as President because he can't accept defeat. Can we afford 2 more weeks? I say NO!

America, PLEASE put some respect on America’s name.

It is time for the leaders of this country to invoke the 25th Amendment. Isn’t it obvious? Today has made me sad with disbelief with what is happening in my country, a country that has inspired my songs of hope and love.

He helped the people do what they had never done before—demand and get a national holiday. That was John’s victory for us. One of my favorite memories is sitting at his keyboard, in his apartment, showing him how to play My Cherie Amour.

John’s unwavering commitment made him a forever champion in the fight for economic and social justice. John, our journey continues.

I didn’t know that voice and those words would affect my life deeply and we would share that mission together, years later. That mission, the King Holiday, is a symbol of John Conyers’s triumphant legacy.

John Conyers was my friend and hero. When I was 16, I heard his voice for the first time. He was advocating for a holiday for Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. It was a warm, persuasive voice that made such a clear case for us to recognize this day. I never dreamed I would meet him.
