Trump doesn’t understand the struggles working folks go through. He doesn’t understand what it’s like to worry you will lose the roof over your head. He doesn’t understand what it’s like to wonder if you’ll be able to put food on the table.

And he doesn’t understand that the longest walk a parent can make is up a short flight of stairs to their child’s bedroom to say, honey, I'm sorry. We have to move. You can’t go back to your school. You won’t see your friends because Daddy or Mommy lost their job.

My dad had to make that walk in Scranton, Pennsylvania. It wasn’t until I was older that I realized how hard it must have been for him. But he was not alone. This story isn’t unique to the Bidens. Too many people around this country have had to make that walk.

Trump brags about the great economy. He fails to mention the ghost towns he created with his failed trade war. People who depended on jobs at companies who needed steel or other imports are wondering what to do now after the plants shut down. Trump fails to mention that.

I remember coming home from school to find my dad mowing the lawn. A half an hour later he had to make a similar walk to tell us that he lost his job. It was hard for us but it had to have been even harder for him to look us in the eyes. We persevered, just like we all will.

“Up a short flight of stairs” most struggling people in this economy are the lowest earners, most of which live in small apartments. Many in the working class would see a flight of stairs as a status symbol.

Their have been homeless sleeping in the streets for decades many mothers and children and Vietnam vets. I have cooked, fed and clothed them. They should come first not illegals.

That Trump piece of shit doesn't know what it means to buy a grocery, cook a meal, and possibly has had other people dress him for his entire fucking life. I bet he can't tie a shoe.

Dude...in the 50 years you've been an elected official....tens of million of Americans made that walk while you watched industry after industry move offshore. AND...you did nothing to prevent it in the 80's, the 90's the 2000's, or the 2010's. Who are you trying to fool?

With all due respect, VP Biden, the longest walk is for the parents who have lost their children to gun violence...please don’t forget them.

I’m not necessarily Team Biden (not sure yet) but this resonates. Say what you will about Joe, he advocates for working class people. He can make a statement like this and it doesn’t feel like it’s part of some contrived manifesto. Just my two cents...

“I meant Social Security ... Medicare and Medicaid ... veterans’ benefits; I meant every single solitary thing in the government. And I not only tried it once, I tried it twice, I tried it a third time and I tried it a fourth time." #BoomersAgainstBiden pastemagazine.com/articles/2019/…

Well, he knows enough to see how life-long Politicians sold us out to China so their privileged children could cash in for billions while thousands and thousands of working families were decimated by NAFTA, KORUS, Trade status giveaways to China, etc!!

It’s such a shame that we average Americans who struggle to provide for our families have to endure comments like this from our President. It shows such a lack of empathy and is demeaning to most of us. I look forward to a return to Family values with Joe

Hard as it is, no politician can promise no one will ever again have to relocate due to a job loss. You have to move where the work is. I’ve done it once with my family as a child and twice as an adult.

So proud of the successful adults my children have become, with a Masters Degree, Honors Diploma Scholar Graduate; community support from IHN, Mercy St. John, Soul Ministries. WWCS

"Sorry, son, Democrats keep making us lose jobs!" "We have to move!"

Of course he doesn’t get it... he has never gone up a flight of stairs to see his youngest kid. He is really busy playing golf!

How dare the president chide a then 10 yr old for "abandoning" his home state. What a jerk.

@realDonaldTrump will be taking a long walk very soon, into a very long prison sentence and one final, total bankruptcy, if he's lucky.
