Two Southern Right Whale moms & their calves rest off Albany, Western Australia. Cetaceans engage in unihemispheric slow-wave sleep, in which one half of their brain shuts down to rest while the other half remains alert, allowing them to surface, breathe and watch for predators.

Thought it was just dolphins that did this, but makes sense that Whales sleep patten has evolved like this, interesting..

I know ppl whose brain shuts down most of the time, and usually more than just half of their brain, working strictly from the brain stem.
