Take two minutes and listen to @AOC explain how a system that underpays and undervalues workers can leave them feeling worthless and how a candidate that fights for them can give them hope. #BerniesBack

Here's @AOC's endorsement video for Bernie Sanders. #BerniesBack pic.twitter.com/vmBajkREOX

Bernie's going to win

What @AOC says here is so moving and true for so many: she didn’t believe she and people like her deserved basic necessities like healthcare & a living wage until Bernie’s campaign and his uncompromising insistence that she and everyone else DO deserve those things.

This is very well said by @AOC. Folks would do well not to underestimate how much this resonates with those of us across the country who come from households where working several minimum wage jobs is the only reality our families have known.

For those that never listen to what the “other side” actually is saying, watch this 2 min stream & see for yourself what we’re fighting in America.

Spin it any way you want, THIS is pure Socialism & there’s a growing population that wants it for America.

The Democrats create the failed system that creates a bigger fail for everyone. Rediculous and inhumane taxation that contributes to homelessness. But they will make sure that everyone will get their fair share of food stamps for the mess they cause.

Another demonstration of what a formidable orator and politician @AOC is.

"To those who can hear me, I say - do not despair. The misery that is now upon us is but the passing of greed - the bitterness of people who fear the way of human progress. The hate of men will pass & the power they took from the people will return to the people." #BerniesBack

In reply to @JordanUhl
I don't want only hope. I want actual progress and in 30 years I don't see that Bernie has accomplished anything.

In reply to @JordanUhl
Sorry... no Bernie! Can’t won’t!

It's exactly the same in the UK and nothing is going to change until we all learn to truly value ourselves, our time, our labour, our right to live and have a decent life. We have been shafted, undermined, underpaid and despised for too long. It's #TimeToChange #EnoughIsEnough

I like how she’s talking about the plight of undocumented workers as if Sanders isn’t an immigration restrictionist. 🤦‍♂️

for all bernie's faults he's undoubtedly the most important american politician of this era and the alternative timeline where he didn't run in 2016 is 100 times more dystopian and hellish than this one. he basically moved an entire generation left.

.@AOC May I finally mail you that red beret?!🧶💯🏩 Or I can mail you a special green beret to represent the #GreenNewDeal we are going to pass!🌍🌏🌍🌎 Thank you so much. #BernieInQueens pic.twitter.com/8YTTlBUM6e

In reply to @JordanUhl
The same thing happened to me in 2016 as well. Bernie woke me up. Got me to believe that I was worth more that I deserved more. And that I needed to get up and fight for it

In reply to @JordanUhl
No thanks. He needs to retire and mentor in the new generation. I don’t want an 80 year old president that just had a heart attack.

In reply to @JordanUhl
She put into words why I and many ppl cry when we hear Bernie speak. Grateful to be seen and acknowledged as someone that inherently deserves respect.

This is wonderful. Worth the watch.

In reply to @JordanUhl
Whole lotta bitter people in these replies lol

I look forward to the day she runs for President.

Except when that same candidate didn't even pay his own staff $15/hr & only agreed to after cutting their hours....all while pretending to fight Bezos and the Waltons...while selling his books on their platforms to enrich them & personally become a millionaire with 3 houses.

MT @CharlesPDavis @AOC was working as a waitress and bartender when she decided to run for Congress. Like many millennials, @AOC had student loans to pay and no health insurance. “When you can’t have healthcare, that is not dignified,”... 🎥: @60Minutes pic.twitter.com/FhLaD8SQWR

I love @AOC but cannot understand the endorsement of someone who 1- has shown no ability to govern 2- has never, to my knowledge, “put his career on the line” for American LGBTQ+ or POC. No.

In reply to @JordanUhl
LOL Bernie will be lucky to be alive in a year

So she repeats Elizabeth Warren's words, but endorse the mediocre white dude. Next.

the real story here is that we can’t wait until @AOC can run for president

I Loved when she explained how Sen Bernie Sanders has influenced her entire life

THIS is everything to me - THREAD

I worked for the same company in the restaurant industry for TEN years. 12-15hr shifts were the norm, and expected. Healthcare was UNAVAILABLE and WITHHELD. Sometimes I was even asked to work UNPAID to help with the company’s labor budget..(1/7)

This is such BS, if you are working in a job that is unsatisfactory find a new one.
That is exactly what @AOC did she ran for congress now she makes $174,000 a year, has a fancy apartment in DC and healthcare.

@BernieSanders isn’t going to make life better with socialism.

I’m not crying you’re crying

It’s gonna be a “no” for me.

In reply to @JordanUhl
And what pragmatic solution does she have to solve this? More government control, money, and power?

In reply to @JordanUhl
I love her but no Bernie for me!

In reply to @JordanUhl
Strong speech, but the captions at the bottom transcribe @aoc’s ‘assert’ as *asset* which makes no sense.

This is beautiful. And also, AOC is going to be president one day. If she weren’t under 35 and ineligible I think this would be the ticket.

Love AOC and her passion.

I remember that feeling. Even after college, at AOC's age, as a single mom. I didn't get the memo that I'd only benefit from Stanford if I kissed a lot of undeserving behinds. I fought Condi Rice, Provost. I stayed poor. We are worth more. #BerniesBack #BERNIESQUAD2020

I hope all political party aficionados in uk who proclaim socialism as their philosophy, watch and listen: shoulder to shoulder against zeitgeist of zero hour contracts, who can make that claim?

In reply to @JordanUhl
I would if it wasn't supporting Bernie. Won't share either for same reason.

Every second sentence of the CNN coverage of Bernie speech is a reminder that he had a heart attack. Slimy.

In reply to @JordanUhl
A system or business that undervalues its workers is understood at the time the employee accepts the job offer. That same organization will fail because a good, strong minded worker will go elsewhere unless changes are made. No politicians need to interfere with the market.

Uma das partes mais bonitas do discurso de AOC hoje em apoio a Bernie Sanders, dizendo que foi ao o ouvir que ela reconheceu que, enquanto trabalhadora, merece mais

Ok. It’s AOC time! That is AOC endorsing Bernie. Isn’t she cute? A brainless Democrat endorses a candidate that loves free shit. I leave the blanks up to you. I’ll grab my shovel!

In reply to @JordanUhl
I wish she was old enough to be his VP

In reply to @JordanUhl
How many of his supporters think their parents or grandparents, around his age, could have the mental/physical capabilities to be President? Zero? Then why Sanders, who has 5 years on the oldest baby boomer?

"I didn't have healthcare. I wasn't being paid a living wage. And I didn't think I deserved any of those things... because that is the script we tell working people..." Damn. So perfectly put. Working people get nickel-and-dimed and we've come to accept it as a law of nature.

In reply to @JordanUhl
How do we pay for those things?

now imagine how worthless they will feel in a socialist system, when their hard work earns them the same as everyone else.

This was the most moving part of @AOC's speech to me: how the system convinced her, like it convinces all of us, that we don't have value, that we don't deserve healthcare and housing and dignity.

my saturday: watching @AOC speak at @BernieSanders’ rally & crying

‼️ everyone needs to watch this ‼️

Four years ago I dismissed the Bernie movement as as an irrational spoiler. I believed that we should all listen to the Very Smart technocrats running the Democratic party about how to beat back fascism and achieve incremental change. I was SO wrong. Next year we make it right.

I may get some unpleasant feedback for this tweet but I’m 53 and I own me and my thoughts.

@BernieSanders inspires me just as Dr Martin Luther King did. He speaks without equivocation he speaks of equality for all he speaks truth to power. I so wish @KillerMike spoke today. pic.twitter.com/NuKt75fZBK

Hint: you cannot force employers to pay more to all their workers. However, you can force them to choose between a) increasing their overall cost by paying more or b) firing some employees to keep down their overall cost.

In reply to @JordanUhl
AOC, you inspire me. You are the hope I have for the future of my son and others. You are the connection between politics and quantum mechanics, the soul of a modern socialist, with all the good connotations that come with the semantics of that word. Stay strong, "they" fear you

really good clip, I liked that too. Hearing a persons real story, brings reality into perspective. Thanks

This is a brilliant clip. I'm really happy to have her on our side.

I stand with @BernieSanders and @AOC! It's time the 99% rise up and take control of our government by voting for someone who represents us!
I'm tired of liars, criminals and thieves being in charge.
I'm ready for a #revolution!
#Bernie2020 #BerniesBack

I've lost count at the amount of Bernie videos that have made me tear up over the last four years. My whole life I've followed politics and I've never witnessed anything nearly as inspiring as the movement he has created.

This makes little sense. She went to BU and was an economics major. The idea that she never thought she would ever be more than a server and didn’t deserve more is hard to believe. It makes for a good origin story, but seems likely a fictional one.
