Big-budget camera operating on a movie quality level, shot live 鈥擮ne take & PRINT IT!

This looks like a scene from a movie about football.

This is what cinematography means.

Shouts to the camera person who did this. Unbelievable work.

Delightful angle, which may have precipitated the 5-minute newsroom-quadrant chatter about how much bigger Cordarrelle looks now than 5 years ago.

Due to never seeing this camera angle before, for the first 7 seconds of the video I was thinking that the latest Madden game is looking really good.

In reply to @DanHanzus
It鈥檚 the opening shot of BOOGIE NIGHTS

You wanna know why so many sports fans no longer attend games in person? Because this is the TV view you get sitting at home in front of a huge flat screen and you can replay it as often as your heart desires. No outrageous ticket prices, parking costs or inclement weather.

In reply to @DanHanzus
Patterson low key helped the angle by changing directions lol

In reply to @DanHanzus
I hated it. Give me the overhead on the live play. I'll take this one on the replay.

Damn this is good! Anyone who played kickoff, I bet this angle bring you back a little to those days.

There could be more of it if viewers at home weren鈥檛 so cranky about change. I believe NBC experimented with it a couple seasons ago.

Acompanho esse esporte h谩 tanto tempo... E hoje consigo me sentir dentro da partida (e sem as concuss玫es). #NFL

You know who brought this angle to pro football?

Vince McMahon.

The XFL鈥檚 lasting legacy.

this is me when I switch from esports to the NFL and somehow, I'd still have @Alchemister5 in my ear saying "follow the story"

I want this in football matches as Saint-Maximin dribbles his way into the box and lays it to Joelinton for a tap-in. Or as Matt Ritchie curles one over the wall and into the net from 20 yards out. 馃い馃い馃い #NUFC

What makes this even cooler is that it takes two people in perfect harmony to operate a SkyCam.

One controls flight (X,Y,Z axis), the other controls camera (pan, zoom, tilt, roll, etc).

Madden has seriously improved the camera in this years edition!!

I SAID THE EXACT SAME THING! Honestly made that play so much better

Hay m谩s talento entre los realizadores de la NFL que en toda la "industria" del cine espa帽ol.

Wasn鈥檛 it the XFL that introduced multi camera angles to the game? I think that was mentioned on the 30 for 30

Props to the camera operator. Brilliant. Not easy.

Whole thing looking like a Nike advert.

This is what I was talking about. The camera work via remote is amazingly good all the way.

Yoooo.....MAD props to the camera operator! Skycam ftw right here!!!

i know i don鈥檛 tweet serious but this really is amazing. viewers don鈥檛 really think about how much effort is used to actually make this happen. astounding

Should be an Emmy Award

Props to the production crew鈥斺

I see Martin Scorsese is doing the NFL coverage now.

Example 3,287 of how technology has made our lives more interesting in ways that we wouldn't consider mediated by technology on the first assessment.

The enduring legacy of the original #XFL is this aerial shot over the field becoming a thing. And it鈥檚 still amazing.

This is the football version of the opening shot of "Touch of Evil."

have to admit this did look cool on camera.. even if I was in shock 馃檲馃う馃徎鈥嶁檧锔

Like it was directed by George Miller. I expected him to jump on the back of Furiosa鈥檚 truck.

Better camera work than the kick return in Dark Knight Rises

I felt like I was watching a Marvel movie.

Someone best give that camera operator a raise!!

I agree the operator on this cam nailed it! Salute!

I can鈥檛 imagine how lit the control room was during this shot 馃槀

Production crews are usually noticed when something goes wrong. This shot though, perfectly executed.

I imagine there were some high-fives during the commercial break!

Whoever is in control of the skycam is absolutely putting this on their demo reel.

Tonight the director on the darts couldn't even show us the dart hitting the board - instead we got to see darts players faces whilst they threw........ meanwhile in America...... wow

Would also be great to have a GoPro / motion stabilized view from the players perspective!

I always use this camera system as an example for the #XR Mixed Reality game show I'm developing. This camera system was first seen and developed by the XFL (remember that?) it failed but then the NFL adopted this camera system.

Holy crap; those wire cams aren't easy to operate.

Huge kudos to the team behind this incredible shot.

@FIAWorldRX can we have it for Cape Town, please?馃お

This is like a Scorsese single take. Just needs a Ray Liotta voiceover: 鈥淎s far back as I can remember I wanted to be a kick returner...鈥

The duo that was running the Skycam for this play deserve a raise.
