Now that I’ve been provided with full info on YoTaxi, we can’t celebrate violence disguised as competition!

A competitive market is where different suppliers exist & consumers make a choice

They can all co-exist nje!

I'm actually impressed with these guys. Instead of resorting to violence, they decided to use their resources and compete! They are playing to their strengths. @SpheDludla @maggsnaidu @vnwaneri @tumisole

That's what u do, taxi drivers. U don't resort to violent means when dealing with competition. Welcome to the 21st century!

In reply to @SayEntrepreneur
Today at Musgrave they started to chase away uber and taxifire drivers, this people must know that they don't own anyone, we as public we will use what suits our pockets....

In reply to @SayEntrepreneur
Great initiative, hope they don't fight over routes

In reply to @SayEntrepreneur

This initiative must be supported by all of us, Small Business, take the lead, fly to Ethekwini n these guys will get u to yo destination

In reply to @SayEntrepreneur
This Yotaxi thing is not even South African or black owned it is Australian so dont be fooled by "12 taxi associations came together to..." it is all white owned and foreign white owned even. pic.twitter.com/irvcyFTbqo

This was a great story until I read that they've started chasing away Uber and Taxify drivers, why must they force people to use their service

In reply to @SayEntrepreneur
Good... Then they must own their petrol stations 🕺💃

This is great, this is Africans being progressive 🙌🏾

In reply to @SayEntrepreneur
But they threatening to remove Uber and Taxify from the road by force.

In reply to @SayEntrepreneur
Can they come to Gauteng please

In reply to @SayEntrepreneur
Your so called YoTaxi thugs forcing clients off @Uber and @Boltapp_za cars as apparently only they can operate in Durban @dbntourism @MbalulaFikile @eThekwiniM pic.twitter.com/CWaQNMYJBo

👏👏👏👏👏kzn must support black business

In reply to @SayEntrepreneur
Ahhh these guys will start fighting with Uber an taxify soon. Nothing to celebrate here. Bayayithanda impi laba 😬🙄🤚🏾

In reply to @SayEntrepreneur
So this is not competition at all, they used this to disguise violence behind,,they say Uber and taxify must leave or pay R10000 if they want to operate. So they don't believe in their own model that's why they don't want to compete.Disappointing pic.twitter.com/eOQjIDbHLG

In reply to @SayEntrepreneur
Great but i foresee more deaths and violence.

After all the shit these taxi drivers put us through why the hell would anyone ever use this YoTaxi? I would rather use the bus.

In reply to @SayEntrepreneur
If you can’t beat them join them and do better. Durban is now leading others must just follow especially Pretoria.

In reply to @SayEntrepreneur
Sadly I was cautioned by my Uber driver this weekend to say where YoTaxi operates, Uber and Bolt are not allowed entry. Should you persist the car is taken away. According to the driver this act dominates in Overport. Unjaloke uDarkie

I dont get why they're already threatening the others. Why should we use YoTaxi if they're displaying signs of violence & intimidation? It means our safety isnt guaranteed, let the customers choose what they want to use.

In reply to @SayEntrepreneur
Told them to stop operating or else, further to this they went to every Uber stop and repeated the message. Competition is good, but not thuggish competition.

It’s not really a competition if they are threatening their competitors with violence for operating. But of course it wouldn’t be a real KZN business without some violence to spice things up.

This is it... combining heads and innovating, not that nonsense of killing other black people.

In reply to @SayEntrepreneur
That ehailing service will have the worst customer service ever seen

In reply to @SayEntrepreneur
100% black owned CO ...leadership

NOW THIS IS US !!! 🇿🇦

Andizi! Iziqhwaga their aim is to do away with Uber and Taxify all because I Business “laphesheya” not to fairly compete in the market with them & they have started threatening Uber & taxify drivers around Glenwood and Musgrave area ukhishwa ngenkani utshelwe ukuthi gibela lapha

In reply to @SayEntrepreneur
They gonna kill each other soon. One is gonna be greedy and start demanding a bigger piece of the pie

In reply to @SayEntrepreneur
Wabona this is such a great move big up to South Africans viva✊✊✊

In reply to @SayEntrepreneur
I see taxi violence coming from the taxi ranks to the app service, these people don't know fair competition and the lawlessness on our road 🙆‍♂️

Now this is how you deal with competition... You don't kill owners of the competing businesses!

Maxi cab owners based in Pretoria and Joburg could definitely learn a thing or two.

In reply to @SayEntrepreneur
These bullies shouldn't be supported. They are violent and are threatening the lives of uber and taxify drivers and passengers

In reply to @SayEntrepreneur
This is good and they should embrace uber n stop burning them

In reply to @SayEntrepreneur
These guys are very violent Uber and Taxify drivers are not allowed to work in particular areas in Durban these guys threatened to kill them. That's not competing I mean I mean how can an old family man threaten to kill a young boy trying to make a honest living.

Big up to them...I hope it won't be the same rude taxi drivers operating them.

See this is what metered taxi drivers we’re supposed to do. Come together and come up with an idea that puts them above the current global e-hailing services but they chose complacency.

We need more competition and less violence. Great job!

All is not as it seems, @Uber & @Boltapp_za drivers in #Durban are being threatened unless they pay R10k & join #YoTaxi. It would be great if this was fair competition but it's not & this matter is being taken lightly by those who should be protecting the drivers & the industry.

In reply to @SayEntrepreneur
Yotaxi is harassing the Uber and Bolt drivers. Threatening them to join their brand for R10 000. They already told them they can't operate on Overport, Musgrave and Florida road. Suppose to be advertising your brand, don't make enemies.

Please don't support these thugs, they use coercion and intimidation to eliminate competition.

In reply to @SayEntrepreneur
I’ve seen these on Florida road

In reply to @SayEntrepreneur
This is great empowerment 🇿🇦 hopefully operate in peace 🙏 we gotta support local brands way way way more than international brands. Should be A priority. @SayEntrepreneur @TakaTina1 @UlrichJvV

If “If you can’t beat them join them” was a person 😁👌🏿

In reply to @SayEntrepreneur
Will the drivers of this YoTaxi have the same attitude as the regular taxi drivers?

But in Nigeria, taxi people are beating up Uber drivers. Look at their mates, moving with the tide.

That's progress right there. Big ups to them.

Harassing the Uber and Bolt drivers. Threatening them to join for R10 000. Already claiming the Musgrave Centre, Overport and Florida road. Uber and Bolt can not operate there according to them.

That's how you fight it. Not by burning things and striking.

In reply to @SayEntrepreneur
are you waiting for people to die before you address this? pic.twitter.com/IQPwBGLemE

In reply to @SayEntrepreneur
I would like to take this opportunity to says my condolences to the families and friends of all the people who are going to die from this. RIP to all of them, it was such a short time for them to be taken that coming soon. pic.twitter.com/oedeTYpmmh

In reply to @SayEntrepreneur
This is what we love to see; finding ways to outdo your competitors and not resorting to gun fights.

In reply to @SayEntrepreneur
Now they talking. In the world of competition, you adapt. U don't cry foul

In reply to @SayEntrepreneur
They are terrorists that don't want to compete

But is it safe for a young lady like me?

And that's literally all it took

In reply to @SayEntrepreneur
Anyone here can attest to these reviews if at all related to YoTaxi? pic.twitter.com/pfJJGnBqdv

Heard reports over the weekend of these guys forcing people in Uber and Bolt out of their cars. Nothing to celebrate if they're not here to compete fairly. Taxi associations need to stop acting like they own the customers

Gauteng Taxi Associations wake up and join the movement for change

In reply to @SayEntrepreneur
Excellent initiative.. This is how you compete with competitors, not through violence.

In reply to @SayEntrepreneur
Thanks, I'll stick to Uber, these taxis don't respect human life

In reply to @SayEntrepreneur
What kind of customer service and pricing are you expecting from an organisation that "forces" the competition out of the market? I am all for black initiative but done like this, it's black mafia and nothing else

The fuck is YoTaxi? This won’t end well😏

Nazoke. We don’t need violence. Let’s compete! The rates are not bad either. Rise Africa Rise!

True business minded people. Not aba who want to kill uber and bolt drivers because of competition

How are they competitors when they want them to pay R10 000 to operate on their "turf?"

In reply to @SayEntrepreneur
This YoTaxi app is good if they were going to compete fairly, which I don't think will happen. From yesterday Ubers are forced not to operate on some areas in Durban.YoTaxi won't be a success because they are starting a war..

In reply to @SayEntrepreneur
Hope they won't fight for territorial control or routes

In reply to @SayEntrepreneur
This is how you compete. Not by burning cars and killing people. Well done

In reply to @SayEntrepreneur
I support this. Instead of torching innocent Uber and Bolt drivers

In reply to @SayEntrepreneur

In reply to @SayEntrepreneur
Can I create an App for them 🙏 please

In reply to @SayEntrepreneur
Thats a beautiful response, esp by an industry deemed lawless👌,over to u Uber and Taxify

In reply to @SayEntrepreneur
When a disruptor enters your market, ur reaction is crucial to your survival. If you can't leapfrog them & do it better 'cos of skills & market set, u buy the competition out, very common in High Tech industry. The WORST u can do is COPYCAT them when ur skill set are NOT alligned

They're going to kill uber and taxify drivers. Watch.

I'm trying by all means to be as pro black as I can be so bolt and uber is cancelled!!

Now THIS is how you fight back, not that crap of burning down Ubers and Taxifys. You can't stop the inevitable, might as well join it.

Connect me with them, I can have an App ready with KZN map

Makes lot more sense than trying to burn the cars of the competition, when the competition actually happens to be a mobile App... 🤦🏽‍♂️

In reply to @SayEntrepreneur
This sounds good but the word on the street is they not willing to compete with uber and bots since they launch the other two guys must get out of dbn

In reply to @SayEntrepreneur
they threatened Uber drivers

In reply to @SayEntrepreneur
Dear Black People Let's Support Yotaxi. Let's stop supporting rich people, support our own.

In reply to @SayEntrepreneur
THIS is how it should be done. Good for them... you compete not sit and complain and expect a solution to come from somewhere

In reply to @SayEntrepreneur
I love the fact that the cost is affordable, an ordinary person can use their services.

In reply to @SayEntrepreneur
This is what businesses do,compete not kill eachother like barbarians

I'd say we need this in joburg but the way they fighting amongst each other for routes this shit won't work.

Claps. Well done 🇿🇦🙌🏽

If you can't beat them JOIN THEM. Guys who operate Metered Taxis take notes and the other guys from @SA_Taxis too 📝

I think is great that they developed their own app. They should compete fairly in the market. Unfortunately with metered cabs, Uber, taxify/bolt now this the market is saturated

You forgot to mention that they harass Uber and Taxify, forcing them to pay R10k if they wanna continue operating

In reply to @SayEntrepreneur
This is brilliant actually 👍🏾
