This is truly fascinating and deserves some serious, in-depth analysis. What has occasioned the 180 degree turn-around. Has something else happened in the background that we are unaware of? There is more to this than meets the eye.

It鈥檚 called the EFF effect

The next you know he will be apologizing for having joined the DA because it is not the same party as the one when he joined. Not long ago he apologized for having voted for the ANC in 1994.

Like a moth to the race candle.

Took him 3 years to wake up

So tired of this race obsession, I might scream. Why don鈥檛 we look at people鈥檚 level of privilege TODAY rather than 25 years, a generation, ago? Not all blacks are poor in 2019. Not all whites are wealthy like Mashaba. Why should policies be RACE based in order to help the POOR?
Nuance. Nuance. Nuance!

We desperately need literature that describes, clearly, the difference between:

1) Placing people in positions of power simply because they're black

2) Prioritising the development of black people because of inequality.

Doesn't this sort of show up the Free Market Foundation as an empty vessel? Clearly the man is more of a pragmatic opportunist than a ideology wonk...

Overall, what other notable flip-floppers come to mind? Perhaps it鈥檚 contagious.

In academia, supervisors often encourage students to read widely and engage in the debates in the literature.

A product of such an exercise sometimes include a change in worldview.

So what has changed between then and now, @HermanMashaba ? Why have you changed from an ardent believer of non racialism to ... this? Your resignation statement is a huge U-turn. Sad day for JHB. You made a meaningful impact for the better. 馃槦
People are allowed to change their mind.
A wise man changes his mind all the time, especially when reality beckons
When you encounter the truth, you won't remain the same.
All that time with EFF has made him come over flip-floppy.
