Our correspondent @joshrushing tried to ask Health Secretary Alex Azar why he didn't do more to bring down the price of insulin while he was a top executive at Eli Lilly. Watch ‘The Cost of Living’ youtu.be/NgSe91S16cA #WorldDiabetesDay /1

This is a *remarkable* sequence. Watch as @SecAzar tries to uncomfortably walk away from a flurry of questions about his role in overseeing insulin price gouging at Lily. @Maybarduk fills the silence by explaining the forms of legalized corruption that enable pharma profiteering.

When @NSmithHolt12’s son Alec turned 26 and aged off her insurance, the cost of his life-saving insulin shot up over 4 times. And because Alec made $40k/year as a restaurant manager, he didn’t qualify for subsidies or assistance programs. /2

That's key - The patent & licensing system is one weve created and one we CAN & MUST change so that insulin & many other essential medicines are not under endless patent protections & patients are not price gouged.

The silence is telling.

This hard hitting journalism. There’s a saying in Hindi “100 sunar ki 1 lohar ki” meaning 100 hits by a goldsmith equal one hit by a blacksmith. Or 100 Loki punches= 1 From Hulk. You go Josh ! all power to you- your pieces are as hard Hitting as the Hulk.
