We were able to get close to the main crater of Taal Volcano this morning and this is what we saw.

I filmed this with my iPhone.

13 Nov 2019 | Seeing this is saddening. I just want to share a video while on an airplane passing by Taal last year. pic.twitter.com/WdLTpCzyaa

Phivolcs don鈥檛 have the resources nor budget to do and collect data like that...or they are may just don鈥檛 have the initiative to do that way....

a robot camera footage would give the same if not a better view of the crater. i think this is unnecessary and gives wrong signals to those being forced to evacuate across several km radius

Suffice it to say all the lake water turned into steam.
Here's more confirmation the main crater lake in the Taal Volcano is gone. Details/satellite imagery: washingtonpost.com/weather/2020/0鈥

Beautiful and risky. Reminds me of Kilahuea and Diamond head in Hawaii. Be safe!

Very risky but thanks for giving us the real situation of the volcano
Here in the #Philippines the picturesque "lake within a volcano within a lake within a volcano" is well and truly gone.... #TaalEruption2020

The Taal lake has been drained. It all looks but a desert. Is this the calm before the storm?

grabe the lake inside already evaporated nd it looks so different :(((( i wish u would stay calm na pls :((((

Thats dangerous po. Why not use a drone?

Fingers crossed that the outside lake doesn't leak into the new fissures #TaalVolcano2020

Mukang sasabog anytime
Horror aside, this view is absolutely amazing. Just last week, this place was full of greenery, a peaceful lake with the adorable Vulcan Point island.

Now, it looked likes a martian landscape, that's both beautiful and terrifying.

Amazing footage of the Taal volcanic crater. The eruption is not over and maybe the worst is coming. #Taal #TaalEruption2020

And this is what it looked like prior to the eruption. It鈥檒l probably take years or decades for nature to fill it up again. pic.twitter.com/zrGwQxKaJI
maybe this is the reason Alert Level 4 is still on effect

Sayang di namin nababa dati yung lake ng crater. There's a part ng lake na cold while nakita namin may part na boiling. Baka naman later on mabalik din ang water ng lake.
In reply to @jamelaaisha
Ano po implications nito?
In reply to @jamelaaisha
safe to say, Taal got calmer? hope so.
Wala na yung tubig sa main crater. 馃槼 At saka akala ko no fly zone na dyan since alert level 4 pa rin.
The whole area looks like an alien planet, or at least an inhabited island in the middle of the ocean.

Lord, after the volcanic eruption let the heaven pour a heavy rain to wipe out all the thick ashes that covered your land. Help them recover their home and return to their living.

Nature is scary... everything looked green when i last saw it
The Taal Volcano today filmed from a Helicopter
Amazing how nature can shape the landscape in an instant.
I still can't believe all the water is gone. #taal #taalvolcano #philippines
Nakakainis lang yung mga replies. This is might not be a valuable information to the majority of the public but it is for the scientist at PHIVOLCS. If you can't understand it then wait for them to release a statement, which they are bound to do sooner or later.
Super goosebumps with all of those gray color, ashes, smoke and devastation. #PrayForTaal
Okay, wag kayong magagalit ha? Pero ang cool. I mean, lumalabas yung pagka-"NatGeo"-"Discovery Planet"-side ko. Mehehehe
