Most older people don’t notice or care as long as their bins are emptied. Child protection services, youth services, children’s centres, Sure Start, sports development, regeneration, public health largely affect the young. The old voted Tory. A generation that cut itself off.

And don’t forget that cut wasn’t evenly spread. For some reason Non-Tory councils got hit harder. No idea why

Yep - which raises the question what will a cut in business rates do for local authorities ?

And this is why council tax has gone up steeply recently. Which gives the Tories a chance to claim that if people voted for a Tory council, it wouldn't have happened. It's all part of the plan.
