Wow! I was there!! At that time I was assistant Groundsman at Filbert Street and remember that day very well. It was filmed on a Sunday and it is the youth team players who were training. Peter was a really nice guy, we all had a bottle of beer at lunchtime as the tent inflated.
Classic rare footage from Filbert Street, back in 1972. #LCFC #LeicesterCity #TheFoxes

You kids probably won’t remember this or Keith Weller wearing gloves and tights!
I do miss filbert street...
the pitch was always shit
Great to see #FilbertSrreet @ProducerCleah. Back in 1975 it was the scene of yet another great @IpswichTown win over @LUFC. Next time #Warky’s in he’ll tell you all about that famous FA Cup tie!

@malchamb when you left Filbert St did this mod-con come with you?! It's weirdly fascinating!
Absolutely brilliant

@StringerSport @JasonBourne1986 the good old days at Leicester how things have changed now
I remember it well, our pitch survived when many grounds were shut, City hosted a good few FA Cup replays for other teams as well....
Great watch. “Just Push It” 😂

Pitch technology has certainly come on. Pitches like bowling greens all year round. No balloons required

Black and white football boots! Who would have thought?
In reply to @BBCArchive
Remember Leicester City not having many games called off through the seventies in the very cold weather.Shame a lot of teams in Divison one did not have this brilliant idea and l no a few did have underground heating
In reply to @BBCArchive
Never knew Leicester had such big fans!😜

Loving it. What memories. Keith Weller and his ‘tights’ and all that. How amazing words like leggings and base layers hadn’t been invented back then
I’d totally forgotten. About this innovation
The only place to be every other Saturday 💙🦊
Remember it well 💙🦊
Not quite old enough to remember this report but plenty old enough to remember the ‘bubble’. @LiveLCFC @LCFCFamily @LCFC
