While coal plants continue to rapidly come offline in the US, wind and solar totaled more than half of the new capacity added in 2019. New gas is still a big chunk too: spglobal.com/marketintellig… by my colleague @steph_tsao.

I still find "capacity" misleading Solar with a capacity factor of between 0.087 (Anchorage) and 0.248 (Honolulu) is inflated The REAL picture looks much bleaker than RE enthusiasts fathom 👇 withouthotair.com/c6/page_46.sht…
