Directly calling out the SVR...new take, I like it.

The White House has formally attributed the #SolarWinds hack to Russia's SVR as part of a range of sanctions against the country.

@margbrennan pressed @FireEye CEO Kevin Mandia on their involvement in December:

"That's definitely a nation behind this"

Today DHS’s @CISAgov, @NSAgov, and @FBI released an advisory to expose ongoing Russian Foreign Intelligence Service exploitation of five known vulnerabilities. Thank you, @CISAgov and partners, for rapidly sharing information to help secure American networks.

Russian state-sponsored cyber actors (SVR) continue to exploit vulnerabilities in networks, including at COVID-19 research facilities. @NSACyber @CISAgov @FBI

NSA, CISA, and FBI have released a report about vulnerabilities in widely used software (Pulse Secure, VMware, etc.) that Russian hackers are taking advantage of right now.

NSA attributes the Solarwinds hack directly to SVR

In coordination with today's penalties on Russia, NSA, FBI and DHS publish information on five cyber vulnerabilities it says are being actively exploited by the SVR, who the Biden admin today formally blamed for SolarWinds.

Statement from Rob Joyce, NSA Director of Cybersecurity:

"The vulnerabilities in today's release are part of the SVR's toolkit to target networks across the government and private sectors. We need to make SVR's job harder by taking them away."

We need to talk about CVEs because the idea that a bunch of people are going to type those in to try to figure out what vulnerabilities are being used is very silly

NEW - As part of today's moves against Moscow, NSA, FBI and CISA issue guidance on Russian Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) actors (also known as APT29, Cozy Bear, and The Dukes) - accused of being behind SolarWinds and COVID-19 espionage. Lists 5 vulnerabilities exploited

Figure out a name for our forever war yet, komrades?

Russia has a narrow window to stop this behaviour or it’s going to become isolated - that’s not good for anyone as we will end up in Cold War 2.0 and I can’t imagine it’ll be any more fun that the original media.defense.gov/2021/Apr/15/20…

Is the daily nation state threat actor report going to become a regular thing? Is that good of bad?

#EMGTwitter, it’s not every day the NSA publishes info that can help state and local governments protect their networks. Take advantage, engage with your IT/Cyber partners to make sure your community is protected & that you’re prepared to respond/recover from an incident.

Which "allied critical networks," I wonder?

Bad guys doing bad things.

As the Biden administration formally attributes the SolarWinds breach to the Russian foreign intelligence service (SVR), @NSACyber, @CISAgov & @FBI issue a joint notification of 5 vulnerabilities.

Note: Adopt a mindset that compromise happens: Prepare for incident response activities.

Great, easy to digest, actionable advice. If you use any of the 5 affected products, patch now.

Together with an NSA, CSA and FBI joint #infosec report, the Biden administration has formally blamed the SolarWinds supply-chain attack on Russia's SVR foreign intelligence service

I’m sure they are shaking in their boots. China Joe is such a loser.

In a joint release today @NSACyber @CISAgov and @FBI attribute the #SoloarWinds compromise to Russian backed threat actor #APT29 aka #CozyBear, along with advise they are targeting vulnerabilities in commercial IT hardware and software.

If the American people don’t come together to prevent the Democrats from being the dictators of this country, it will be a communist country, Joe Biden and KaMala want to add more judges to the Supreme Court that only approve what they want, if not a dictatorship, then what’s it?

What actions are being taken to punish Russia?

All of these are old CVEs. Goes to show how crucial it is to have a proper patch management cycle.

In reply to @NSACyber
You, I and all Americans who are against communism, must already be thinking about where to go, because it’s going to happen, if the people of this country don’t stop them!

In reply to @NSACyber
yikes. So the Russians are busying us, while they are about to invade Ukraine? Is that what is happening?

#NSA, #CISA, and #FBI strongly encourage all cybersecurity stakeholders to check their networks for indicators of compromise related to all five vulnerabilities.
