Has anyone else noticed the explosion in anti-NHS pieces in the right-wing press?

They Tories are coming for it, aren't they?

The Sun.

Yes, Jo, they're coming for the NHS.
Corbyn warned about it.
You called him a Jew-hater.
Didn't you.

#ItWasAScam and it's costing us the NHS.

In reply to @JolyonMaugham
It鈥檚 the BBC too 馃槩 Incidentally, this man warned you all.

Always the plan, wasn't it. Run it into the ground through underfunding, then say "oh it's not working anymore, we have no choice but to sell it off".

In reply to @JolyonMaugham
There was a fella who warned us 2&1/2 years ago. But you know. Murals innit

In reply to @JolyonMaugham
#CorbynWasRight Now how do we stop it happening? @UKLabour are in bed with Private Healthcare Lobbyists too. pic.twitter.com/ZGYTgmlHCq

Coincid锚ncia certamente que este governo de Tories eram tudo malta do privado e com liga莽玫es 脿queles think-tanks conservofachos amaricanos

In reply to @JolyonMaugham
I think they fear for their chances at the next GE so they鈥檙e going to strip what they can from everything before going full on charm offensive a few months before.

In reply to @JolyonMaugham
My son's an F1, he works so hard & on the side is helping with research to detect heart problems earlier. We have something so special in NHS. The Conservatives want to sell it and make a fortune at the expense of poor people's health

The vultures circle over an NHS laid low by covid, brexit and austerity. They've dreamt of killing this "socialist project" for years. I expect they'll go for two tiers, with better off patients given vouchers/tax rebates to buy private insurance and the rest left to rot.

This is exactly what they did to local govt in the first years of Cameron. Endless Mail/Sun/Telegraph stories about fat cats, gold-plated blah etc, faithfully parroted by broadcasters, creates appetite for cuts & privatisation. Worse: creates actual hatred & violence too. 馃У馃憞馃徏

In reply to @JolyonMaugham
Corbyn did tell you, even showed you the documents but nobody focused on that. It was all 鈥淐orbyn got these from Russia鈥

In reply to @JolyonMaugham
Yep. Underfund it, slag it off then privatise it under the guise of saving it.

Tories softening up for nhs privatisation, which they鈥檇 wanted to do for years. Make ppl aware underfunding is deliberate

It wasn鈥檛 Russian propaganda after all then aye?

In reply to @JolyonMaugham
Yep. GPs seems to be the obvious first target. Already semi-privatised they're ripe for a multi tier system being introduced because right now it's pretty much impossible to get an appointment in some areas (like me in Bromsgrove - thanks @sajidjavid health secretary)

In reply to @JolyonMaugham
Yes it is happening so surreptitiously & are gearing us all to accept NHS privatisation to add to all the other costly woes we will have to endure. Life will be very expensive when it happens.

In reply to @JolyonMaugham
I'm sure readers of these rags are absolutely gagging to see those US style medical bills drop through the letterbox. That will give them their "proper Brexit."

In reply to @JolyonMaugham
So we aren't allowed to critisise the NHS? We have to accept poor service and be grateful because its 'free'? Maybe go listen to the thousands of people who've been failed by the service and get an alternative perspective. It's a monolith that needed reform years ago.

The Tories aren鈥檛 鈥榗oming for the NHS, they鈥檙e getting ready to deal a death-blow.

Wait, there was a time when the mouthpieces of non-domiciled billionaires weren't full of anti-NHS pieces?

In reply to @JolyonMaugham
Jeremy Corbyn warned you all about what would happen to the NHS, didn鈥檛 he?

Sow outrage and fear and the populace will call for change?

What next? Shock and horror at how much of the nations resources are consumed by the poor and vulnerable?

We NEED a properly funded NHS and it isn't a privatised one.

Beware Soylent Green!

#SaveOurNHS

This is one part of why the NHS is in trouble. Too many overpaid managers taking cash that should be used for treating patients.

In reply to @JolyonMaugham
In London at the weekend and shocked to see adverts for private healthcare all over the tube. Not seen that before.

Jo Maugham folks.
Liberal lawyers eh?
Literally no interest in empirical evidence if it contradicts their prejudice.
Imagine this guy being your barrister in court?
You're going down 馃檨 pic.twitter.com/qPa9rfSqxi

In reply to @JolyonMaugham
It's already largely gone at the provision of services level. GP practices owned by American healthcare companies, specialisms commissioned from the private sector etc. Just the final step of changing the funding model and we're screwed.

馃У 猡碉笍

We will miss our NHS when the Conservatives have mangled it to nothing

In reply to @JolyonMaugham
Likely paving the way for the upcoming changes in July that allows further privitisation. I can say that NHS internally is more overstretched and under funded than you think

In reply to @JolyonMaugham
It is very helpful that they include a picture of a 'fat cat manager' just in case we don't know what they look like... 馃槣 pic.twitter.com/3aod0PcxbH

In reply to @JolyonMaugham
Why are you surprised, you were told this and cast the messenger as an antisemite and russian stooge. Are you really as smart as you think you are?

In reply to @JolyonMaugham
Yep, and we're already deep into the first phase of the plan which is to starve of it of funding, run it in to the ground until it collapses. The second phase is to claim only privatisation can save it. Honestly I think if the Tories win the next election the NHS is doomed.

They've been coming for it since the health and social care act in 2012. I noticed more ads for private health on the train in 2013.

This isn鈥檛 new

In reply to @JolyonMaugham
Of course Jo. Always their intention They're determined to take it away before next #GeneralElection as #JohnMajor was in privatising the railways #SaveTheNHS

In reply to @JolyonMaugham
If he reduces the number of overpaid paper pushers, who thatcher introduced, I鈥檇 welcome that but I get a sense he鈥檚 more about selling it off and lining tory pockets.

What the fuck, are the press not allowed to criticise the NHS, largest endpoint of public funds, without it being some kind of tory scam? Each one of these articles points to a specific (and if true, fair) issue with the system.

Tories make their next chess move towards the privatisation of #nhs They underfund, break morale, blame management & then propose radical reform which can only be delivered in private ownership. This Tory playbook is all too familiar. The country needs new leadership.#toriesout

In reply to @JolyonMaugham
As an NHS worker in Cancer diagnostics headlines like this hurt to the very core. My colleagues are working at 120% to try to reduce the backlog-the simple truth is a lack of qualified staff and very poor workforce planning over decades . Thank you right wing press 馃様

In reply to @JolyonMaugham
Do they have to shoehorn 鈥渨oke鈥 into everything?! If something as wonderful and altruistic as the NHS is considered woke, then sign me up for barrels of the stuff.

In reply to @JolyonMaugham
Yes, and Corbyn told you they would.

As expected! 馃槥 And also, taking the gullible (right wing press readers) press with them. So sad鈥..especially when they have to start putting their hands directly into their pockets to fund their health care.

In reply to @JolyonMaugham
Yep. They stripped it through PPE / Test and Trace crony contracts. Now pushing for reductions to staff and services to make up the shortfall.

Giving the Tories an outright majority always meant the last two bastions of decency in our country, a free and fearless BBC and the NHS free at the point of need would get totally stuffed. I'm usually poor at predictions but said this in 2015 when that shock result happened.

Never read right-wing gutter press it seeks to gaslight therfore should never be acknowledged. Leave them shouting into the wind.

In reply to @JolyonMaugham
They always have been, this is just the next phase of it.

In reply to @JolyonMaugham
Follow @drbobgill to understand what's happening

In reply to @JolyonMaugham
Can you unroll this please. Thanks.

Proof they were using Covid to run it down, while pretending Covid was over.

Yes predictably鈥︹ demonise the NHS to justify private 鈥榬esources鈥 and make the sell off more acceptable

In reply to @JolyonMaugham
No doubt at all. It鈥檚 been a transparent plan since 2016 - they鈥檝e been 鈥減ositioning鈥 the NHS to fail so that privatisation and a fire sale of assets on the cheap to their funders and friends can make them all rich(er) and folk who can鈥檛 afford insurance, sick or dead.

The typical tory process of causing angry and devision, turning the population against the NHS. Extending waiting lists, long waits for ambulances and decrease in contact with GPs. The masses only realise when it's too late. #NHS

In reply to @JolyonMaugham
Too right, impossible to get a GP appointment. This is blamed on COVID of course meanwhile those who can afford it are now are paying for private consultations. Eventually paving the way for government to justify increasing privatisation.

In reply to @JolyonMaugham
Use of "woke" as a term of abuse = gammon morons.

In reply to @JolyonMaugham
Corbyn told us that 30 months ago when he held up documents eluding to NHS privatisation. He wasn't electable though and Johnson was supposedly. A country run by corrupt government and monarchy, supported by media and delusional morons who care of no one but themselves.

Wake up everyone. We need to stop this now!

In reply to @JolyonMaugham
It has always been on the cards. Labour must fight the next election on saving the NHS

In reply to @JolyonMaugham
They've methodically broken it, methodically given the prize contracts away to mates. All they're doing is what they always do

#thread The @Conservatives are trying to destroy our #NHS we must not let them cc @doctorshaib

And yet more lies, you are not getting the service you need because of fat cats in the NHS not the fat cats behind the Tory party.

In reply to @JolyonMaugham
It's Johnson's last job for his paymasters. Then he will go.

In reply to @JolyonMaugham
Well the NHS has killed 3 members of my family so far, one on The Liverpool Pathway with no prior discussion with the family before they withdrew basics like fluids for a COPD Gran and who was otherwise in good health. They took her within 3 days, the ghouls.

In reply to @JolyonMaugham
The #Tories have attacked refugees, the poor, the homeless, EU, benefit claimants, left-wing lawyers, climate campaigners, the Bank of England, footballers taking the knee and now the #NHS. Time to look at themselves.

In reply to @JolyonMaugham
Oh really they have invested billions they have done all they can

They are indeed. Disappointingly from Jeremy Hunt as well. I'd hoped he would distance himself.

In reply to @JolyonMaugham
The NHS is "woke" now? 馃槀馃槀馃槀 is it because they treat brown people?

In reply to @JolyonMaugham
Given that the Tories have been 鈥榩rivatising鈥 the NHS for the past 40+ years, according to the left, they鈥檙e doing a pretty bad job of it.

In reply to @JolyonMaugham
The NHS had a massive increase on funding and yet still is a complete failure. Extra funds have increased nursing staff by 25% and management including useless diversity managers by 125%. The NHS is not underfunded its just incredibly badly managed.

Why did the owner of the sun come to the NHS for his covid jab then fucking rats the lot of you

In reply to @JolyonMaugham
Won't be long before it is sold to the highest bidder with no care or thought for the people who can't afford it. Is there much left for them to sell?

In reply to @JolyonMaugham
Coming for it ??...its not fit for purpose for so many ..

#SOSNHS Save the public NHS from the rabid profit makers.

Every Tory administration has. I鈥檓 old I鈥檝e been watching. I鈥檓 an ex nurse.

In reply to @JolyonMaugham
We could always be like the United States which has the most expensive health care in the world with the worst outcomes relative to expenditure.

In reply to @JolyonMaugham
You were warned but you ignored the warnings

In reply to @JolyonMaugham
Ah, the 'ol "defund public healthcare so we can claim it doesn't work and privatize everything"

In reply to @JolyonMaugham
I'm old enough to remember Mr Corbyn warning everyone about exactly this - & I also remember the collective knee-jerk reaction of the billionaire-owned UK MSM #OwnIt #ItWasAScam pic.twitter.com/bwEqAnx9Ee

I fear it is goodbye NHS, unless we do something about it.

In reply to @JolyonMaugham
I suspect it鈥檚 a done deal. The global(US) healthcare & Pharma agenda is so embedded in the Toriski party.

In reply to @TheSun
@TheSun

Is it time for educated people to Stop Buying the Sun

They Hate the NHS and want it privatised

Yep. Been laying the groundwork for ages. Hello private health inurance. Hello social care insurance. Hello elderly care insurance. Adieu NHS.

In reply to @JolyonMaugham
We're more worried about this small, elite group of blonde, hard-right Aryan women standing up for the racism of Apartheid Israel... do they have no decency? timesofisrael.com/some-uk-jews-e鈥 pic.twitter.com/1Ua1gHY1E1

In reply to @JolyonMaugham
There's a reason why Rothermere wanted to take the Mail private and remove any transparency...

馃馃馃馃馃

You were warned and told this many times but magic Grandpa was too much of a threat to people like you Jolyon #NHSPrivatisation
