How are juvies expected to value life when they’ve taken the life of helpless women? What lesson should they learn when no lesson is being imparted? Isn’t the fact that we grant juvies impunity the reason that these perpetrators are continuing to commit brutal acts?

Yes, the criminal law amendment ordinance seeks to amend IPC, Evidence Act, CrPC and POCSO to dole out harsher punishments. Yes, the Juvenile Justice Act 2015 has been passed in which juveniles in the age group of 16–18 years, involved in heinous offences, can be tried as adults.
