Overdraft fees were created in 1990.
Credit scores were created in 1989.

We can live without them.

But without overdraft fees, how will bank executives afford their yacht payments?

What is this fantasy world that you want to live in?

Was wondering where you stole this from…Oh, Nina…🤦🏽‍♂️ pic.twitter.com/mM4WX0DJZ7

It’s fitting that a person that cries for student loan cancelation can’t understand why lenders care about poor credit.

In reply to @ninaturner
The Department of Education was created in 1979. OSHA was created in 1971. We can live without them.

They’re class warfare being waged against younger generations. They need to be abolished.

Been saying. Credit scores are worse than China’s social credit system at this point.

Wait Terry Gilliam's "Brazil" was released in 1985 and had references to credit scores in it... where did he get the idea from if they didn't exist yet?

In reply to @ninaturner
but the Oligarchs can gate keep poor w those 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 No, but seriously Europe doesn't have credit scores like we do. Your life should NOT be dependent on you having good credit & a Credit Card

In reply to @ninaturner
Credit scores were created so that everyone did not pay higher interest rates in order to cover the losses of deadbeats. Now if you have good credit you get a better rate. Or would you rather everyone pay higher?

In reply to @ninaturner
Also when did usury stop being a crime? We can bring that back

In reply to @ninaturner
So you want people to be able to spend money they don’t have with no consequences?

In reply to @ninaturner
Prior to credit scores money was lent based on a bankers judgment as to the worthiness of the person requesting a loan. So if the banker didn’t like you——or trust you——NO Credit!

You CAN live without them. You just don't want to. Don't want a credit score? Don't get credit (i.e. borrow money).

In reply to @ninaturner
They totally control our lives! It is shocking that credit scores drop BIG when a student loan is paid off which exposes who they support!

In reply to @ninaturner
they need to be fixed (and in the case of fees less exploitive) but how else do you stop people from using what is not theirs (block payments when funds are insufficient)? Also how do you evaluate risk when extending credit without a reputational score of some sort?

I was today years old finding this out. 🤔

& yes, we can.

In reply to @ninaturner
Maybe you should teach kids to be responsible with their finances. I’m proud of my high credit score. I work hard to pay my debt on time and responsibly!

In reply to @ninaturner
Overdraft fees are insanely ghoulish. “I see you’re having trouble with money. Let me make that worse!”

In reply to @ninaturner
But how would the banks suppress us then?

In reply to @ninaturner
There was a time BEFORE overdraft fees?! 🤯🤯🤯

In reply to @ninaturner
I was born in '89 too. I've had bad credit since '93 :)

Overdraft fees and credit scores are younger than my brother shhdhdhdhdhdhhd this world is unserious screw capitalism!

In reply to @ninaturner
Cap the usury fees on credit cards while we’re at it.

Proud credit union member since 1975. Try it.

In reply to @ninaturner
You really, really hate being accountable for anything. 😂

Wait, I'm older than both of these things that I definitely thought were older than this? We just love punishing poor ppl and dressing it up as 'accountability' or 'inspo to try harder.'

In reply to @ninaturner
How about just not overdrafting? Is that a solution in your world, or is everything geared towards people who are mismanaging their money not having anything negative happen to them as a result of their management?

In reply to @ninaturner
Credit scores are a scam

In reply to @ninaturner
Who told us these banks are too big to jail? Crooked bankers see others getting away with it, so they keep doing it twitter.com/WCVB/status/15… pic.twitter.com/27HXOsdEGu

In reply to @ninaturner
What's your source for those dates? I've been trying to find that information.

In reply to @ninaturner
This is major knowledge almost no-one has-duh! Thanks, our brilliant Nina.

In reply to @ninaturner
Credit scores attempt to determine ability to pay. Zero chance I’ll lend money to people without a credit score or something that approximates it. And that concept preceded credit scores.

In reply to @ninaturner
Debt wasn't a concept until some created it either.

Overdraft protection is optional. I told Wells Fargo they could either turn it off or I wouldn't be making an account. When I overdraw my balance goes negative and then I have X number of days to make it go positive, but nobody pays 1.15 on my behalf and charges 50 bucks for it.

In reply to @ninaturner
Nonsense. Don't spend money you don't have. Don't be loyal to FICO, which just rates your ability to stay in debt. Get out of debt and stay out.

In reply to @ninaturner
I'm more worried about ESG scores, they are a danger to freedom. pic.twitter.com/pA6xcau5Rp

In reply to @ninaturner
Ur policies enabled individuals to neglect personal responsibility for their decisions. Ur weakening the America’s standards of God, family, country.

In reply to @ninaturner
Wait until we get the social credit score like ccp China. Or wait until ESG is implemented.

In reply to @ninaturner
If you're financially responsible, these aren't a problem. Fly straight or suffer. They taught this to me in the 3rd grade.

In reply to @ninaturner
Yeah. No credit check tools. Mayb we just stop making loans to anyone. Good idea?

In reply to @ninaturner
This needed a tweet? You know who can fix? Both Liz Warren & Bernie Sanders. Thems your peeps right? No @ them? Your credibility is in the negative.

In reply to @ninaturner
This take is scorching 🔥🔥🔥 hot. I love new ideas. 🤔👏👏👏

In reply to @ninaturner
You can live with out them but you can’t borrow money with out them. If you were in the money lending business you would love them.

In reply to @ninaturner
Yep...let's just hand out unlimited loans and free money to everyone, regardless of ability to repay.😂

If you don’t have the funds then people simply shouldn’t be able to withdraw. Letting them withdraw so you can charge them more in penalties and fines is sick.

Credit is so fucking stupid. You’re basically borrowing money you don’t need just to pay it back for a score. Nonsense

Poor people are the ones being screwed by both. Especially when trying to rent.

On track to be my new favorite tweeter.

In reply to @ninaturner
We can also not overdraft.

In reply to @ninaturner
Great! Now do abortion.

Keep the poor always poor ,is all designed by the rich.

The Department of Education was created in 1979.
OSHA was created in 1971.

We can live without them.

In reply to @ninaturner
Humans and particularly those of the banking, sales, and lawyer variety are just the fucking worse.

In reply to @ninaturner
Its expensive being poor🥲

In reply to @ninaturner
Would you loan your own money to someone you know nothing about?

In reply to @ninaturner
Sure, we can live without them. In tents.

& before 9/11, there weren't luggage fees :-(

In reply to @ninaturner
Can't disagree. Banks can and should just deny the charge.

In reply to @ninaturner
We can live without antisemites as well and yet they are breeding amongst @TheDemocrats like rabbits on heat

In reply to @ninaturner
I'm fine with overdraft fees being either eliminated or significantly reduced. Why eliminate credit scores? So people can hide the fact that they don't pay their bills?

I always thought that credit score and interest is a scam.
