Snap analysis: Keir Starmer finished his speech with: "As in 1945, 1964, 1997, this is a Labour moment". For the first time in years, the party actually looks and sounds like a govt-in-waiting. There will be difficult times ahead, but he took a big step forwards today.

The most impressive Labour Leader鈥檚 conference speech since the party went into opposition. Keir presented a vision for Britain that can rescue the country from the appalling decline being caused by the current government and reverse the damage inflicted since 2010.

Hm strange I don鈥檛 remember you saying Corbyn didn鈥檛 look like a government in waiting Quite the reverse

He鈥檚 capturing the zeitgeist - we need leading out of this mess with integrity & inspiration. We also need truth - so he steered clear of sound bites & false promises too. We鈥檝e already seen that movie and it didn鈥檛 end well.

Until he trashed the Scottish vote - no deal with the SNP which is a democratically elected government yet they are in coalition with the Tories in local government in Scotland - yea that works.

In reply to @PippaCrerar
Cautious as ever. Simply wants to ape the Tories but do everything better than them, including Brexit. No interest in PR either, putting him at odds with the majority in his party. PMs in waiting are made of sterner stuff.

Really? Who amongst the shadow frontbench appears to have any credibility?

In reply to @PippaCrerar
Then they go and spoil it by have fringe events mocking the Royal Family and MPs being racist ..Yep..Sounds like a Labour conference alright

In reply to @PippaCrerar
Just don鈥檛 count on gaining SNP seats in Scotland as it won鈥檛 happen.

He can kid himself and left wing journalists but not most voters

You leftists literally say that every time there's an election, usually intertwined with something about 60 days to save the NHS. Can we assume all the other times you were fibbing? Maybe this time too.

We can't tell if MSM hacks like Pippa know about or have watched #LabourFiles - but there's one thing we can be 100% sure of: she won't mention it (unless it is decisively discredited) These frauds are actively involved in censorship. youtu.be/elp18OvnNV0

I think Ms. Truss and her cronies will be shaking in their shoes at the moment. Combining their bold policies and numerous poll results from the last few days, momentum really is on Labour's side. I'll likely vote them for the first time in 4 years.

Consent Manufacturing Machine go Brrrrrrrrrr

It was a cracking speech & Labour now look like a party ready to take power. Some serious, heavyweight commitments. After years of lies, deceit & corruption there鈥檚 a chance of getting a new Govt with integrity ready to rebuild our public services. It can鈥檛 come soon enough馃尮

Even worse times to come if that's being used as the example. All of those dates have 2 things in common. 1. Those 3 years were when Labour won General Elections. 2. The Country was brought to the brink of bankruptcy each time. Not much to brag about that, is it?

Reminder: The UK has the second lowest ratio of public debt to GDP in the G7 at 88pc (IMF data), lower than Canada (102pc), France (113pc), the US (126pc), Italy (151pc), and Japan (262pc).

As long they fulfil their promises to working class people for the many not the few action speaks louder than words they will have to clear torys mess ie government borrowings the debts incurred to feed the riches deprived the poorest people first before they deliver the promises

In reply to @PippaCrerar
Just puts into context how much time these Tories have been in power. We've got plenty of evidence now that the Conservatives policies don't work, that they don't keep their promises, and that they have conned the electorate. Consistent behaviour.

A racist govt. Commies. Uneducated. They will tax us to death. And give it all to those lazy buggers who vote for them .A DISASTER WAITING TO HAPPEN. 1964 ended with IMF. 1997 there is no money left. Sold NHS off via PPP. DISASTER

Musical chairs as the Earth die. Warming in some parts of the globe is seven times faster than the previous forecast. Before all that, much will happen, including Chinese military action. War!!!!

The huge gaps between all those years being referenced should be a clear sign for him that electoral reform is well overdue.
