The petition now has a greater mandate than the electorate who decided upon our prime minister. pic.twitter.com/06e7wPsUwA

60 odd million haven’t signed it, I’m very relaxed about this, It’s on par with Putins referendums, Pointless in the grand scheme of what the majority want.
This needs signing. Please can you REtweet as well. 👍
What I hate about this country is that if this were France, people would be rioting whereas in the UK people just sign petitions that are always ignored.
Keep signing, email, text whatever your favourite means of transmission, just make sure it gets to everyone you know!

Suggest you read the fixed parliament act
Please sign if you haven't already. Already many more have signed than voted for Truss as PM.

They need to go, the country's future depends on it.
In reply to @mikegalsworthy
That assumes that Truss recognises that she is in any way answerable to the electorate, which is doubtful
In reply to @mikegalsworthy
Yeah worked really well for a second ref on Brexit 😆
In reply to @mikegalsworthy
I got a reply to the same petition the other day to say they decided not to do anything about it. pic.twitter.com/pGvePUJJiB

Petition calling for an immediate general election 👇
In reply to @mikegalsworthy
There are approaching 70 million people in the Uk 🇬🇧 if not more! You are pathetic!
Feeling sorry for the poor sod in the cabinet office who had to draft the response to this where they just explain what democracy is lmao
In reply to @mikegalsworthy
Lol this is pathetic and desperate. Reminds me of the desperate Remoaner marches. And how did that work out 😂😂. As embarrassing as ever. Getting more and more desperate.
In reply to @mikegalsworthy
There has already been one of those. This is the reply petition.parliament.uk/petitions/6197…
In reply to @mikegalsworthy
1. Over the last three years no petition achieved anything no matter how many signed. 2. General election is just a puppet swap. It achieves nothing. The UK is run by billionaires via groups like the WEF.
In reply to @mikegalsworthy
Lovely idea but the government would have to vote for an election, with labour predicted to win a landslide it doesn’t seem likely. It would be the turkeys voting for Xmas.
In reply to @mikegalsworthy
Let me know when it reached 30 million and I’ll think about it. 200k is the population of Hackney
In reply to @mikegalsworthy
It’s not going anywhere the pound has bounced back
In reply to @Bowieisacraven1
The extent of her mandate is the choice of 81,000 citizens. Just on this alone there are at least two and half times as many citizens that say she has no mandate. @mikegalsworthy
You know it's the only way we're going to escape this hell hole
> Watches the news for 15 minutes
> Sits on twitter arguing with strangers
> Declares the current Govt is in chaos and we must cause more chaos to overcome the current chaos

Why do I feel every "social movement" is just some scheme by the CCP or Russia to destabilise the UK?
In reply to @mikegalsworthy
Twice as many votes as Truss has ever gotten
More ppl have signed a petition for a general election than voted for Liz Truss to become our PM.
Nearly more people calling for a GE than involved in electing the current PM.
Throw them out before they throw us out
In reply to @mikegalsworthy
The fact it is more than the 80,000 that elected Truss should be enough.
Hey Mike, remember that time 8 million people signed s petition calling for article 50 to be revoked and for the UK to remain in the UK?

How did that work out for you guys?
Has a petition like this ever amounted to anything of value?
Retweet to get this to 1m signatories.
In reply to @mikegalsworthy
I signed it but did they not already respond? No chance we’ll see a GE anytime soon.
No idea how much good this will do but if it got into the millions it would have more clout.
More people have signed this petition than voted her in power. #TrussMustGo
In reply to @mikegalsworthy
225,340...thats my number 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿
You’ll be wanting us to come out of the EU next…
In reply to @mikegalsworthy
The people who voted for Truss are the same idiots who thought Theresa May and Boris Johnson should be leader, at least those two had the balls to put their leadership to a national vote, Truss knows she’ll be out on her arse with a GE so she’s going out of her way to avoid one
In reply to @mikegalsworthy
The next general election will be December 2024! Stop kidding yourselves and wasting your time.
In reply to @mikegalsworthy
Don't be a dick. You've now got sovereignty, and you're bathing on the sunlit uplands of Brexit. Whyever would any of you want to change that. Thou shouldst be worshipping those who freed you from the EU! facebook.com/bbcthree/video…
Help by signing the petition
In reply to @mikegalsworthy
You do realise it makes absolutely no difference which political party is 'elected'? They are not in power.
In reply to @mikegalsworthy
On twitter not the real world 🙄
Signs and share as widely as possible!
I’ve signed it, please sign, share, RT. More people have voted for this than voted for #disastruss to become PM on an unelected manifesto.
In reply to @mikegalsworthy
Why is it always weak feeboid type blokes who post on line petitions.
As well meaning as these petitions are (and I’m not trying to disparage anyone from partaking) I’ve never seen a single one yield results, much better to get out on the streets and protest or organise locally
Not normally one for petitions but fuck it why not.
In reply to @mikegalsworthy
I seriously don’t see the point of these petitions. What purpose do they serve Get 100k signatures. Debate it. Liz says no. Then what?
In reply to @mikegalsworthy
Thank god it won’t make a difference 🛎🔚
In reply to @mikegalsworthy
Look at what the arrogant cunts have replied already. Basically a massive fuck you to everyone. They’re scum and got to go. #GeneralElectionNow
There’s an election happening 100 percent they’ve already decided that in the background
In reply to @mikegalsworthy
In reply to @mikegalsworthy
Did anyone get a reply back from the government about this email? 😂
In reply to @mikegalsworthy
That's not really how it works..... is it.
I've signed this petition, and I urge everyone to sign this as well, a General Election is only way to make this country even a little bit better and more hopeful for the future.

In reply to @mikegalsworthy
Long way to go. "The Pyrenees with Michael Portillo" got more than 1.1 million viewers on @channel5_tv the other week. Would be embarrassing not to beat that.
In reply to @mikegalsworthy
Still needs Parliament to be in session before anything happens. Which is shameful.
