Antonio Inoki was a total pro wrestling legend! From his victory over Andre the Giant to his boxer/wrestler match vs Ali to his titles, Inoki was a class act & classic of the mat! To be the best, he beat all the best! Condolences to his loved ones & the wrestling world. #RIP💔😔 pic.twitter.com/MeSL8b75TU
Antonio Inoki is essentially impossible to explain at anything less than book length given how distant the world of his prime is from today, but if someone can write it that’s a book worth reading. An exceptional, era-defining figure, like Hulk Hogan and Vince McMahon in one.

Arigatōgozaimashita Inoki-san.
I'm pleasantly surprised they the address Inoki's unrecognized WWE title win
In reply to @UnemployedBeef
They already have done it live during SD.
I'm still pretty new to wrestling, but man, this is a bummer. Even I know what a legacy Antonio Inoki leaves behind. Deepest sympathies to his family and the millions of fans he's left behind.
Antonio Inoki, RIP. One of Japan's greatest pro wrestlers. He held 12 world championships, including IWGP, UWA - and the unrecognized WWF/E title reign (kudos to @WWEGraves for mentioning this on-air). He defeated Andre the Giant and Hulk Hogan - and battled Muhammad Ali in 1976.
In reply to @WWE
Y'all should remember him by letting your talent go strong style for a night
Very big of @WWE and especially @TripleH to tell it like it is.

They officially let it be known that Antonio Inoki was indeed the first ever Japanese WWE Champion, but stopped short of mentioning the name of his promotion...

...New Japan Pro Wrestling (@njpw1972).
We are indeed in a new era in the WWE. Antonio Inoki's recent passing has been acknowledged in today's #Smackdown. They also referenced Inoki's unacknowledged WWE title win.

In reply to @WWE
He was a cornerstone in the world of Puroresu and an international icon. Rest in peace, Inoki-san, you are missed sir.
