So much for "JustinFlation". A new report from Scotiabank says that 85% of our inflation is from "global or foreign forces" and supply challenges.

"Government transfers account for around 0.45 percentage points of the rise in inflation we have observed since the end of 2019."

You pick and choose what you want to believe. There are plenty articles out there that debunk this.

For everyone who thinks that government is responsible for inflation鈥

Literally, a rounding errors worth of responsibility.

Here is the new report from Scotiabank which says that 85% of our inflation is from 鈥済lobal or foreign forces鈥 and supply challenges.

This in interesting! Just yesterday I heard @ABDanielleSmith say in the Alberta Legislature that inflation has been caused by Trudeau but also by Notley and the carbon tax.

In reply to @maxfawcett
Well, that's Justincredible

In reply to @maxfawcett
The carbon tax has nothing to do with it right Max?!

In reply to @PierrePoilievre
Stop lying to Canadians, Skippy. 馃憞

In reply to @maxfawcett
Oh don't you know, it's bc PMJT personally paid Scotiabank to say that.

In reply to @Gray_Mackenzie
Can you ask him why ScotiaBank says our inflation is due to other factors then? I mean, how do we know who to trust? 馃槒 twitter.com/maxfawcett/sta鈥

In reply to @maxfawcett
That鈥檚 not what mark Carney or Tiff McKlem or Eric Kam claim. So apparently cause is not decisively written by the Bank of Nova Scotia

In reply to @maxfawcett
It鈥檚 not really 85%. It鈥檚 more nuanced than that. Energy costs are somewhat within our control and the FX, which everyone conveniently ignores is driven down by lack of investment and Canadas over leverage to unproductive parts of the economy (real estate bubble)

In reply to @maxfawcett
CTRL + F "Trudeau" 0 results.

In reply to @maxfawcett
And the other 14.55% is Loblaws.

In reply to @maxfawcett
So the direct costs of the Carbon Tax mean nothing, sort of the elephant you people never acknowledge. Covering for someone, eh?

In reply to @maxfawcett
That is why raising interest rates won't quell the rate of inflation. This is caused by economic forces outside of Canadian control. It will only hurt the middle class.

In reply to @maxfawcett
And if you honestly believe that you are not with the picture.. just saying.. Government spending (laundering) has caused it all.

In reply to @maxfawcett
Waiting for PP to accuse the ScotiaBank of lying in 3,2,1 A bank lying about money. (Hysterical laughter ensues). PP, banks, don鈥檛 need to lie about money. They make tons of it and basically control it. Still claiming Justin caused worldwide inflation?

I鈥檓 just doing my New Years countdown when #PeePee cons finally stop using Xmas carols to rhyme out statements in QP 馃檮馃嚚馃嚘 馃尣

It doesn't bother me so much that the CPC will continue to lie about this....a leopard and their spots after all.

But what DOES bother me is the party apparatchiks who will carry water for their narrative to the detriment of Canadians who actually DO need to understand #cdnpoli

In reply to @maxfawcett
...so it's Putinflation, rather than Justinflation?

In reply to @maxfawcett
Don't you love how the Bank of Canada went from "there is no inflation" to having essentially to dedicate 30% of their policy interest rate targeting increase (and probably more) to fight inflation because of said stimulus packages?

In reply to @maxfawcett
Which again comes down to Justin Trudeau policy issues Max. He had an opportunity to make Canada nearly self-sufficient and in a fit of ideology refused to do it.

In reply to @maxfawcett
You are omitting it鈥檚 primarily Trudeau spending and his cancelling of oil pipelines - you liar pic.twitter.com/pCzEQlHSsP

I鈥檓 not sure if I鈥檝e said this before but #PierrePoilievreIsLyingToYou when he knowingly lies by stating the current party leasing the government has much control over inflation.

Are you implying that self imposed inflation is okay at +15%? Pretty sure most Canadians would disagree

In reply to @PierrePoilievre
@PierrePoilievre

Read it and weep PP.
Or you could just retract your propagandist lies.
Don鈥檛 suppose you will do either because you don鈥檛 really care about inflation and you do really need your BS.
Otherwise, bereft of ideas as you are, you would really have nothing to say.

either his liberal arts brain doesn't understand basic economics or he is intentionally trying to mislead. Which is it. I wonder. 馃

No surprise here... unless you're @PierrePoilievre or any of the clapping-seal chuckleheads sitting behind him. #conservatwats

There you go with your facts again

In reply to @maxfawcett
Of course, the truth about JustinFlation will not deter brain-dead folks, such as PP, from using that term, as he has any clue about what's really happening in the World. And those who would vote for him are likely not capable of knowing the difference...

In reply to @maxfawcett
Should have been obvious to any one with a brain. Covid really screwed the global supply chain & it's still recovering, then came Ukraine war & oil/gas price rises. Add some corporate gouging. Inflation will settle down in time, but no gov't is to blame. That won't stop nitwits.

Scotiabank is bought and paid for by Justin. Like everything else that says everything bad isn't directly his fault.

Well so much political 鈥渄iscourse鈥 these days gets pulled from USAmerica, why not some bastardized birther story positing Justin as another foreigner worsening our (his) inflation to salvage the 鈥淛ustinFlation鈥 story. Double down on the lies.
