Rod Stewart on Sky News saying he’s a long term Tory voter but "this government should stand down now and give the Labour Party a go at it".

We need household names to say this. Just ensure you and your mates make the right choice on election night, Rod.

“We are failing… we are failing…”

Lifelong Tory and vocal smoothie Rod Stewart calls time on the rolling tyre fire that is this current Tory government… good lad

👆Charlie Brooker likely had the likes of Rod in mind with his "faded entertainers" category of #Tory...👇 pic.twitter.com/bFYWl7ijGE

Thank goodness. Rod’s now spoken. He’s been silent on this too long. He’s always who I look to for guidance before voting and if he’s not available I seek counsel from The Proclaimers.

Why though is he a long time Tory voter

Labour are as bad if not worse. They are the opposite of “the answer”.

The first in this series pulled no punches in revealing Tory underfunding of NHS, apparently it will run for a year. They had a representaive on from The Health Foundation who was really clued up and watered nothing down. Lots of NHS workers in the audience speaking up too. pic.twitter.com/12Wc4523bi

Rod (the mod) the great white blues singer of the late 60's who sold his soul to the corporate devil. A lesson to every talented young musician. He was an impoverished and brilliant singer - next thing you know, he's on the game, a Tory, and a sad caricature of his former self.

Been saying for ages we need more high-profile individuals to add their voice. You’d think the self-made ones especially would have more to say.

Whatever was Rod thinking of being a lifetime Tory supporter??

In reply to @supertanskiii
He wont, he will probably piss off back to LA as a Tax exile.

In reply to @supertanskiii
What makes his opinion more worthy than others?

Indeed. But on another point, can Rod please stand down now please? Along with McCartney.

They have been speaking out in trickles. Jennifer Saunders tweeted recently about the amount of scandal and sleaze. But agree we need more

What’s the odds on Tory ministers saying that they have never heard of Sir Rod Stewart when asked about his comments?

He will vote for tory party 2 instead of tory party one. How very generous of the tax-avoiding Rod.

As if Labour won't be following Agenda 2030 🤣🤣🤣

Stewart's only stating the obvious: even staunch Tories must see that Parl't is stuffed with 100s of useless no-hoper Tory MPs, & there's no-one on the back benches that could improve things.

Do you never get fed up with putting out this scripted puppet-show garbage all the time? The parties are cut from the same basic cloth. Presenting it as a genuine contest is utter nonsense.

Brexit ...the fool voted for it.

Doing anything because Rod Stewart recommended it is just as stupid as it gets!

Pays no tax here. His opinion on the governance of the UK is irrelevant.

Rod Stewart can wear the label
Mr. Marc Elias coined, "a partisan, but a fair partisan" Wish Republicans would think like that, president Biden has brought calm, economic strength and so much more to our country after Trump, and they want to take us back.

In reply to @supertanskiii
I am a comfortably off well into middle age traditional Tory voter and cannot possibly support them at the next election or any time soon. Divided, corrupt dishonest and in hock to appalling ERG.

Ok now I’m a big fan!
