Each cover is designed by the local publisher who acquired the rights to the book in their country and translated it into their language. For all my books, I’ve been consistently fascinated by the different takes!

I’m a technical, scientific person and I understand what ML can do. I still can’t help feeling like I’m missing something when ML is used this way. There’s no way to validate the predictions, so this strikes me as no more than an amplification of bias in the data and algorithms.

The papers I link to have some details on validation if you want to dig in. They hold some of the virus data back from the training and then test the ML against it.
