As we remember those we lost on 9/11, we also remember the spirit of unity and togetherness that defined the weeks and months after. On this day of service, I’m reflecting on all those still working to embrace that spirit, today and every day. fox5ny.com/news/volunteer…

Thank you President @BarackObama. As I lost my brother due to the 9/11 related cancer that he ended up with, I am thankful for a President whose message will remind Americans of the importance of this day.

I miss having a president.

Ladies and Gentlemen,

This is how a real POTUS acts. Cogent prose, compassion and grace. I miss this leader so much!

Best,

A Worried Citizen

We remember that you gave billions of dollars in US taxpayer money to Al-Qaeda terrorists that ravaged #Syria and opened up slave markets in #Libya.

Your hypocrisy knows no limits.

Appreciate this true leadership by a true president. Thank you, @BarackObama -- your spirit still leads! #911Anniversary

the liberal notion that there was a “spirit of unity & togetherness” after 9/11, is a myth. arab & muslim-americans feared for their lives. islamophobia was at its peak. people were rigorously against the clear drumming up-for-war. there was no inherent “togetherness.”

But wait, why aren’t you posting pics of yourself, touting your ‘08 & ‘12 election victory margins & attacking the press??! This seems far too dignified a tweet, oh....this is what a GREAT PRESIDENT and STELLAR human tweets out in remembrance on 9/11. #NeverForget #maga

Dear @BarackObama - you are and will always be my favorite human. 💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖

I don’t remember this “spirit of togetherness” after 9/11. I remember intense fear and dread among Arab Americans and Muslims about what the government would do in revenge.

Thank you Mr President. Your words are a reminder of who we are & what we can do together. It is just the kind of reminder we need today & every day. Your tweets are like a hug from an old friend.

It's FRIGHTENING that this is how the days after 9/11 are portrayed to a generation not old enough to remember the terrifying lynchmob mentality throughout the US, all over the media & political class. It was horrible & was exploited to make the US and the world a worse place.

In reply to @BarackObama
We miss your leadership every day. 🙏🏻

Hug your loved ones a little tighter tonight, send that text even though you may be upset, we never know what tomorrow will bring. #NeverForget #September11 pic.twitter.com/BiIc6jFOeZ

Take a fucking seat.

A wise man's words always age well: “When words stop meaning anything, when people can just make stuff up and there’s no consequences, democracy can’t work. The only guardian of truth is you. You and your vote. The character of our country is at stake." --Barack Obama, 2018
