What in the world is he talking about? Trump BLOCKED Bolton and every other witness in the House.

If Trump is now ok with Bolton testifying in the House, I’m sure that can happen, like, tomorrow.

Where does the fictitious requirement that all witnesses must testify in the House come from?Certainly not criminal law, where prosecutors need only put on evidence to show probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They can put all relevant evidence in at trial.

If they say it enough times on Fox News, it becomes truth. This is the hellscape in which we’re living.

Watched countless interviews/MSM pundits .. not pushing back enough on the fact that Starr had a grand jury for Clinton and ALL the witnesses were heard from .. where as Trump has obstructed all the way.

It's the next clause in the constitution after the one that says no SCOTUS confirmations during election years.

In reply to @JoyceWhiteVance
The Trump team is making up their own rules, their own constitution and their own lack of truth to cover up the lies of this President.

Double speak. They say you need a crime.. but then they say its not a real Trial, its a Political Process.. they cant have it both ways.. TRUMP IS GUILTY. GOP is covering it up! AMERICA WILL SENTENCE TRUMP in 2020. GOP is disgraceful and not honoring their OATH. pic.twitter.com/KefXtIxQbw

The GOP have so little to defend , they are inventing excuses

The GOP has broken or changed every law in their way so far without challenge, why would they stop now?

Also, can you answer a serious question? Does the OLC just sit around making stuff up? Because I’m not a constitutional lawyer and this just seems non-sensical to me. Like, what *is* the legitimate function of the OLC? pic.twitter.com/JXDxNwT47M

They are trying to trick the public into believing the House hearings were a trial. I hope someone can start explaining the difference.

All of the lying & lawlessness from GOP is due to the Fox News platform that allows the subversion of democracy & deception of the public. This is fraud. & this is why Fox News was installed: to allow GOP corruption. We need broadcast regs NOW! @RepSwalwell @RepValDemings

And yet all I see on TV today is people discussing Trump's nonsense defense like it is worth considering.

Trump makes it up. And his cult follower believe him. As long as he’s able to gaslight through twitter and Fox News ... we are doomed. And I hate to be so negative... but they believe every lie he tells.

The House Managers should call Trump as a witness. Let's see how tough he thinks he is. Let him show his supporters how he knows everything & his superiority? I will take that bet.

In reply to @JoyceWhiteVance
They're making up the rules as they go and lying that there is precedent for whatever rule they're citing.

Comes from the Republican Lie Machine

Its all spin, meant for a Fox News soundbite. They’re going to take away our democracy on nothing but Fox News soundbites.

Even if this were a real requirement, Trump obstructed the obtaining of evidence during the House investigation. he should not be allowed to benefit from the obstruction.

I think you lawyers must just be shaking your collective heads at the persistent, bad-faith attempts by the GOP to rewrite the Constitution and / or criminal law when it comes to this impeachment in order to confuse the public.

Rich-guy loopholes appear as needed.

In reply to @JoyceWhiteVance
I’ll bet 90% of the Public is unaware of this. Not many people are familiar with Grand Juries etc and presume that anything that looks and smells like a trial (like the House Impeachment vote) must require “beyond reasonable doubt” standard

Whether it’s common law or common sense, the Republicans uses neither. Some of us are listening Joyce. I hope enough people will become jurors and kick him out of office in November.

They’re always making sheet up. Just like the privilege BS.

We should focus on what Traitor Trump & his band of crooks r DOING wrong, not what they r saying about what they r DOING

Ohhhhhh....just some more made up shit. Business as usual.

😅😅😅 Are you telling me Democrats voted for an impeachment and they don't have enough evidence now

From trumps brain straight to McConnell the enabler to the Republicans to enable.

In reply to @JoyceWhiteVance
Maybe we @AmbJohnBolton can regard this as trump wanting him to testify, and hence has not invoked privilege of any sort.

Trump is the perfect argument for limiting regular people’s access to the internet and having licenses for the ability to post content. Not everybody needs a microphone and an amplifier.

Just a bunch of trash being spouted to confuse their base. Sadly, because they’ve taught their base to ignore truth SO thoroughly... it may work.

That’s like saying all witnesses must testify at grand jury!

Please believe, I until 2017 the oath of office was as he says " sham " I am a retired Ranger from the United states. I believe my 20yrs of service even makes me a better person to be President and Commander in Chief. 1st. Joseph Beasley Ret. 2nd. Bat.75th. Ranger Regiment.

Some relevant trial evidence—subpoena trump to testify under oath. Certainly all Senators (+Americans & Fox viewers) would want to hear his ‘story’.

In reply to @JoyceWhiteVance
And weren’t these witnesses blocked from testifying??? We are watching our democracy die minute by minute

This rule is in the same section as the one governing confirming supreme court justices in election years.

It’s more propaganda than it is fiction. They know they’re lying.

NPR this morning asked Chuck Schumer why should witnesses go to the Senate if the House didn't try to compel through the courts. He answered it would have taken too long. But the question is so preposterous, that a trial can't call witnesses! NPR again parroting and normalizing.

In reply to @JoyceWhiteVance
An unfair, sham trial is not just a miscarriage of justice for the United States of America, it is a miscarriage of justice for Trump. A finding of "not guilty" is meaningless if he is not allowed to present evidence that proves his innocence. That is not true exoneration.

They're just lying. No law.

In reply to @GOP
@GOP It appears @senatemajldr @SenateGOP have A LOT TO HIDE FOR TRUMP🤔
