I couldn’t agree more. The education and deep need for change continues.

His access needs to be revoked. Education is all well and good but progress does not happen until this sport shows that there are very severe consequences for this behavior. accountability needs to be taken by him & others on creating the culture that fosters this behavior.

The time for education has long passed. The readings have been up for forever and a day. People are not racist because they know no better they continue to be racist because there is seemingly very little consequence when they are racist.

In reply to @MBrundleF1
Then change it. You are one of the most influential people in this sport.

In reply to @MBrundleF1
Change will only happen when culprits are publicly named, regardless of who they are.

People shouldn’t need to be educated on why the N word is discriminatory and abhorrent to use in this day and age. #F1

In reply to @MBrundleF1
how about you say the name of the person that caused the need for this statement? Nelson Piquet. How about you directly call him out instead of this generic statement?

In reply to @MBrundleF1
Did you actually type “education” Martin? Education?! Is Nelson Piquet Snr, father & grandfather, a simple child who doesn’t know what he’s saying? I’m so embarrassed for you if *this* is the best you can do.

In reply to @MBrundleF1
It’s such a generic statement you have no choice but to agree. Where is the detail?

everyday we must educate people? please everyone that uses that word knows exactly what they’re saying be serious brundle

? you have power and authority do something

In reply to @MBrundleF1
Although I hope F1 bans him from future races, if you encounter Piquet on a grid walk what question are you going to ask him?

Racism is why his 8th world title was stolen. Talk about that or go to jail Martin. #f1 #WeStandWithLewisHamilton #trans

In reply to @MBrundleF1
Would help more if it wasn't a generic PR statement though...

In reply to @MBrundleF1
Why don't they say what they are talking about? Piquet fits nicely into the Red Bull fold though, along with Jos Verstappen.

In reply to @MBrundleF1
Quite shocking that red bull is linked with another racist. His daughter is parading herself with the human error champion like they are untouchable.

Everyday education but people are not learning. This isn't an education problem. And martin you are too old to make such a throwaway statement

In reply to @MBrundleF1
Question is..... Do you mean it? Words are cheap without action.

In reply to @MBrundleF1
When would this education process ever end? It's all day every day education & NEED of change but no change is happening due to lack of actions. If there were actions taken previously then these wouldn't have happened & an action taken now can mend the future issues.

In reply to @MBrundleF1
Education?? Is that it?? No doubt Piquet is ‘a good ol mate’. Nothing short of a lifetime ban from F1 would be the right message to start with…unless it’s all ‘lip service’? Sadly a lot of these F1 dinosaurs have the same disgusting attitudes #CallHimOut #DrainTheSwamp

In reply to @MBrundleF1
Is that all you have to say? I hope you and the rest of your colleagues @SkySportsF1 have more to say this weekend and call out every team that don't show their support and condemn Nelson Piquet SR

In reply to @MBrundleF1
"Discriminatory or racist language is unacceptable in any form and has no part in society." Cancel culture is becoming strong in F1. I remember when you called track side workers "Pikeys" If Piquet is sincere, genuine with his apology then accept it and move onto racing!

In reply to @MBrundleF1
Nothing ever said about Hamilton’s own religion & beliefs which provide the divine warrant for racism. Much like last year, it’s always about Hamilton. It always had to be about him during silverstone week. Back of the pack or not, they need him front page this week.

In reply to @MBrundleF1
We are tired of these repetitive statements from you and the whole F1 community.

eDucAtIon

What education? What other education do those people need? Everything that needs to be said has already been said. Enough with the so-called education

In reply to @MBrundleF1
Call Nelson Piquet out for saying the n-word in a interview and push to have him banned from the paddock. These statements won‘t be enough for „change and education“. We need action. We need consequences. We need a sport to actually take racism seriously.

In reply to @MBrundleF1
Say his name @MBrundleF1 - he’s your buddy after all.

In reply to @MBrundleF1
Who’s said what to prompt this statement ???

Didn’t you send you lap dogs to cyber bully a black woman all because she didn’t want to get interviewed by you???🫤

EDUCATION?? It’s 2022 Nelson Piquet is 69 years old.
When people show you who they are, believe them.
We need the @fia & @F1 to take ACTION against racism!!

In reply to @MBrundleF1
Another spineless defence of the 7time WC

In reply to @MBrundleF1
This what is racism is all about, its protected and thrives with correctness. You jump on interviews when Lewis wins and he's racially abused you want education. Call out racists but you won't because you know the clique must be protected.

In reply to @MBrundleF1
"The tweet is unavailable"

In reply to @MBrundleF1
Here here. I'd love to hear what you really think of Piquet's behaviour, during his driving career and after. Uncensored.

In reply to @MBrundleF1
Use his name or you’re just another coward in a box of cowards (F1/FIA/Liberty)

In reply to @MBrundleF1
Well said Martin. Feels like this is happening frequently enough in motorsport that more than simply condemning, the authorities need to proactively educate all members of the community on this stuff just as many large organisations now try to do.

In reply to @MBrundleF1
Good on you for raising this but call it out by using their name. @MBrundleF1 ! I’m a big fan of yours but don’t dance around the issue. Hold #NelsonPiquet to account. No name is too big.

A little bit tired of this narrative of 'learning' & 'education' - what is there left to learn? It's 2022 and these people are fully grown adults!

In reply to @MBrundleF1
name and shame Martin

In reply to @MBrundleF1
This is Martin's personal Twitter. Nobody should be forcing him in to saying anything. Regardless of how deep anyones feelings or opinions go; even what platform they have, they do not have to say anything if they don't wish to .

In reply to @MBrundleF1
All these high figures and teams can start with calling him out by name in their “statements” his name is Nelson piquet and he is a racist

In reply to @MBrundleF1
Keep seeing all these different posts but I don't know what happen

In reply to @MBrundleF1
Funny that Red Bull has an association with this, racist tweets from a junior, and of course Jos.

In reply to @MBrundleF1
How very careful with his wording.. made sure he didnt say one bad word about that racist P***. If you want it to change then start with yourself and stop spitting delusional and biased comments. Hypocrites

In reply to @MBrundleF1
One line tweets are shameful in 2022

In reply to @MBrundleF1
Agreed racism in sport needs stamping out along with other actions that sport stars carry out . ( Footballers ) But can't help asking why wait 8 months, this comes across as yet another PR stunt . Just days before British Grand Prix . Don't give excuse, nobody knew.🤔 Rubbish

In reply to @MBrundleF1
He called all white people racists. Makes him a racist as well.

In reply to @MBrundleF1
Absolutely spot on Martin, but why is no one saying the name of the racist?

In reply to @MBrundleF1
this is completely unacceptable. Thoughts are with you Lewis, stuff like this must irritate and hurt

In reply to @MBrundleF1
They should just call him out, name and shame

In reply to @MBrundleF1
so take action then rather than just saying it’ll soon come?

There is a generation of fuddery old has-beens who will never change Martin, there is just no place for them in F1 anymore.

There are a lot of people who just can’t see past Lewis’ skin colour which these days is not just sad it’s pathetic.

In reply to @MBrundleF1
Now do Saudi Arabia

In reply to @MBrundleF1
Piquet should get a paddock ban at least

In reply to @MBrundleF1
Piquet Sr was a great driver, a nice chap at the pits (as far as I remember him from Jacarepagua), but he is a disgusting & racist Brazilian citizen. On the other hand, Sir Lewis Hamilton is not only GOAT. He is a fantastic human being. Period.

In reply to @MBrundleF1
This should be spread! Say his name. Stop protecting Nelson Piquet Sr pic.twitter.com/cbftO49AcB

In reply to @MBrundleF1
Just bland statements from those connected with F1, no action, no calling out by name those who behave like this. #piquetisaracist

In reply to @MBrundleF1
You raced at the same time as Piquet. I know he had a penchant for nasty comments about everyone, did he ever use language like that back then?

In reply to @MBrundleF1
Max should marry his girlfriend, then he will have a father in law as a racist and his real father as a wife beater.

In reply to @MBrundleF1

In reply to @MBrundleF1
Don’t you think the deafening sound of silence from @redbullracing son this says something to? I hope they are mortified and are brave enough to say so, soon!

In reply to @MBrundleF1
I guess the p word is harder to speak out then the n word! Once again a lot of noise but no action is taken

In reply to @MBrundleF1
Plus accusing Hamilton of dirty driving, saying he deliberately pushed Verstappen off the track

In reply to @MBrundleF1
people always say it’s time to educate when it comes to racial comments. How about it’s time for action as this isn’t the first time this has happened…

In reply to @MBrundleF1
I doubt that it will ever end.

In reply to @MBrundleF1
Spot on Martin. Unfortunately, we continue to live in a day and age where racism is still present.

In reply to @MBrundleF1
education? how many years must we “educate” people?

In reply to @MBrundleF1
You are the GOAT of F1 commentary Martin 👍👍👍

In reply to @MBrundleF1
Piquet was a cock when he was Mansells team mate

In reply to @MBrundleF1
Martin. Please be sure to name the person who has said such dreadful words.

In reply to @MBrundleF1
Appalling to see this. I hope f1 and fia ban Nelson attending F1 events. We don't need this behaviour.

In reply to @MBrundleF1
A poor statement from your HR team Mercedes.

In reply to @MBrundleF1
Fuck off Martin - you could call out the racist by his name or just play it safe and make the right noises. Anybody has ever heard these old white rich men when they are off camera will know. 60 yr old men talking about what girl they have shagged the night before - disgusting
