Not a great signing for Fernando. But we Will see in the Future.

This was my tip for the seat last week. Aston Martin have a development project and they wanted an experienced driver to help them through it rather than a rookie who would be learning on the go. Thats why they signed Vettel and now Alonso. Hope that Piastri gets Alpine seat now

He has history in making poor career choices......

Why would Alinso move from a up and coming team like Apine, to a wannabe better but just can鈥檛 do it team like Aston Martin. Just doesn鈥檛 make sense

Is it ? Not sure it鈥檚 good for anyone, FA going to a worse car and if he wants to win is it going to happen there ? Get some more young blood in the seat , look how well all the youngsters are doing given the chance.

It really isn't great news for Lance Stroll. I don't know if it makes sense for Alonso either. He was clearly frustrated by Ocon, and Lance Stroll is 100 times worse.

Is this a good move? Maybe some insider knowledge Martin , but from.the outside it doesn't seem great. No doubting Alonso a hugley capable driver still but will not win anything at AM and just fills a seat for 3yrs. Good that OP will get F1 seat at Alipne

Now, just maybe, they'll make another good decision and put H眉lkenberg in #2, and make Lance the reserve driver !

Backwards step, in terms of the car, alpine much better than Aston Martin, got to be about money

In reply to @MBrundleF1
Thought he was happy at Alpine?

In reply to @MBrundleF1
Did Alpine not want to keep him? This is otherwise a step down for Alonso surely?

In reply to @MBrundleF1
He always said he wanted a Merc engine 馃ぃ

In reply to @MBrundleF1
That鈥檚 about half the grid he鈥檚 raced for now???

In reply to @MBrundleF1
Well, he IS a force of nature... too bad @AlpineF1Team were to idiotic tk keep him. I hope the hirings done by Stroll payoff in the very near future!!! I really want to see @alo_oficial succeed!!

In reply to @MBrundleF1
This seems like a mistake on Alonso's part.

In reply to @MBrundleF1
Was it really though? Look what happened to Vettel at AM

In reply to @MBrundleF1
It's a mistake to leave alpine for them. It's all about his boy lance

In reply to @MBrundleF1
Does he know something we don鈥檛 ?

So good to see Fernando鈥檚 career continuing. He鈥檒l be missed when he finally decides his time is up.

In reply to @MBrundleF1
Aston will regret taking mouthy they should ask MC Claren they would be up front to-day if they stayed with Honda Mouthy is to blame for that.

Alonso still appears to enjoy his racing and still has more to give.

In reply to @MBrundleF1
Can only be about the money! Must have offered him mega bucks.

In reply to @MBrundleF1
An interesting development; I was rooting for Jamie Chadwick, what a missed opportunity for both her and team @JamieChadwick

In reply to @MBrundleF1
Bad move for Alonso i think but i guess he goes out with a whimper and not a bang.
