I heard so many harrowing stories from Sanibel residents as they were rescued today. Many thought they were going to die as the water crept up over their homes. They were grateful volunteers using their own boats saved them.

Great story from @BrianEntin about the rescue efforts underway on Florida鈥檚 Sanibel Island 鈥.
鈥淎pocalyptic鈥 is the word we kept using Thursday. It鈥檚 the best word I could find to describe what I was seeing.
Phenomenal story of regular folks saving each other's lives.

The truth is that it鈥檚 mostly people helping people as usual. & @GovRonDeSantis is too busy at his photo ops to be bothered to actually do anything.

Barrier islands are no longer viable places to live and neither are a lot of coastal areas. Climate chaos is here now. Blame Republicans for refusing to help us adapt.

very nice reporting. And those 'Good Samaritans' that brought their boats to help rescue people...thank you. Regarding what you said the water went above the mobile homes... some may not have survived. prayers馃檹
