I heard so many harrowing stories from Sanibel residents as they were rescued today. Many thought they were going to die as the water crept up over their homes. They were grateful volunteers using their own boats saved them.

The truth is that it鈥檚 mostly people helping people as usual. & @GovRonDeSantis is too busy at his photo ops to be bothered to actually do anything.

They only had few hours notice as IAN took z turn toward them. Would gave been chaotic

Barrier islands are no longer viable places to live and neither are a lot of coastal areas. Climate chaos is here now. Blame Republicans for refusing to help us adapt.

very nice reporting. And those 'Good Samaritans' that brought their boats to help rescue people...thank you. Regarding what you said the water went above the mobile homes... some may not have survived. prayers馃檹

Any word on if everyone in the prison in the evacuation zone made it ok?
 
I have a client who鈥檚 home was in Sanibel and she informed me this morning that she has just lost everything. So heartbreaking 馃挃

Instead of just getting out of the area before the storm hits but nope 鈥渨e鈥檙e gonna ride it out , it won鈥檛 be that bad鈥
