The leading agitators for online censorship insist it's needed to prevent hateful messages from circulating, since those incite rage and violence.

Just go check what they tweet all day. It's a never-ending flow of vicious hatred against their enemies, deliberately inciting rage.

Man, all day long on twitter the most vile names and nasty comments I hear all come from the left. And their verbal attacks have absolutely picked up since Musk took over. It feels like they are lashing out 馃し鈥嶁檧锔

Thanks for pointing it out! It麓s the same in the several languauges I read and understand! At the moment it麓s on a new, next level here in Brazil...I think it is because they get away with anything while the right side is being removed, silences, blocked, censured.

Hey Glenn, once the fascists have come for all of us, they will come for you. Just because you're willing to separate yourself as "one of the good gays," doesn't mean you won't be betrayed just as readily when the time comes.

How about this loving message from the 'be kind' crew? pic.twitter.com/ro8OiVoPHS

Yes. This happens when hypocrisy becomes OK & acceptable & an integral element of so-called discourse.

Citation needed. "But they think their hatred, their attacks and calumnies, are noble. Hateful insults by The Enlightened are sacred... But they can't be "hateful." Only their political enemies can be. But nobody can criticize them: that's "harassment," incitement, etc."

In reply to @ggreenwald
Plain, good old fashioned truth.

The left incites rage and fear constantly, the right does somewhat but not to the level the left does. Quotes from the left "you will literally kill people if this bill passes" "vote as if you life depends on it, cuz it does" "police hunt black people in the streets"

The people they鈥檙e talking about hate the wrong things though. It appears we need to add a new phrase to the Orwellian lexicon of caustic invective. I propose 鈥渨rong-hate,鈥 a synonym of sorts for wrong-think and thought-crime. pic.twitter.com/0zDcA6DUvA

The vitriol is incredible. All day, every day.

Re: 'hate speech' -Since ppl typically only hate that which they fear- (It's why ppl hate snakes) I rec that antiwar folk take care to emphasize their FEAR of warmongers/CIA/DOS It could help us to avoid being censored on Twitter, YouTube, etc, for indulging in "hate speech"

You're SO right about this. The self righteousness and hypocrisy is just staggering.

As long as I get to define what is hateful I guess I'm OK with that?

Some people have proposed that Tucker Carlson should be sued for espousing replacement theory: dailykos.com/stories/2022/1鈥

The establishment media is responsible for manufacturing consent for the military industrial complex to cause mass death i. THe third world and to silence every other voice.

"Hate speech" is any speech that doesn't fit their murderous narrative.

Who else notices that @ggreenwald says " deliberately inciting rage " rather than " deliberately inciting violence "? That is a strategic choice by Greenwald because as a free speech absolutist he needs to preemptively protect himself and Tucker Carlson and he does not want to

In reply to @ggreenwald
We should censor all threats to free speech

In reply to @ggreenwald
Why are they so full of rage?

In reply to @ggreenwald
wait is deliberately inciting rage on twitter bad? isn't that kind of your entire business model?

couldn't have said it better

In reply to @ggreenwald
I couldn't give a sh1t about these people. The web works fine without the 30%-tax, walled-garden, ad-servers, that is the app stores.

In reply to @ggreenwald
I mean it lines up. The same people who think only white people can be racist

In reply to @ggreenwald
Let鈥檚 get Greenwald to say it in 19th century English instead of his peabrained peapod tweets. 鈥淭he negro is vicious and hateful鈥 far more of a threat than the white plantation owner鈥︹

These people must be defeated.

Truly next level projection.

Look, if someone says something so offensive to you, block them and move on with your life. Adults only here. This subject is bloody boring and a distraction from the real issues of the day.

In reply to @ggreenwald
True adults know that words can鈥檛 hurt you.

Could not have said it better. These people are dishonest hypocrites of the highest order.

Elon is against free speech, make sure to remember that

In reply to @ggreenwald
Don't worry Glen, the hateful people are on the left, the left is far more scarry than the majority of the republican party that would litterally make it illigal for you to marry your husband if they could

the difference is that our enemies deserve it

鈥楢ccuse others of what you are guilty of.鈥 For Glenn to focus on one account that defends lgbtqi rights and say nothing of the venomous bile that spews forth out of the mouth of his fellow travellers such as Matt Walsh and Tucker Carlson is quite frankly disgusting.

In reply to @ggreenwald
No censorship but people need to be prosecuted for death threats & other online threats - those are illegal & laws need enforcement - it will get worse if nothing is done . After a few prosecutions & this stuff will lessen

Glenn, would you like to attack the NAACP directly or are you going to continue to not name names directly that could lose you money? We know what you鈥檙e doing. It鈥檚 sick.

In reply to @ggreenwald
Paglia did that ages ago in a more civilized way, for example. It鈥檚 gross when she was on Tucker, too, but less gross at least.

I stand right here because of Leftist vile Media.馃憞 It's why they do it. They've been given permission & false empowerment to tear humans down & their FAKE Godlike benevolence will be removed by shunning their REPUGNANCE & use of the courts. twitter.com/loudproudTexan鈥

Most of the hateful messaging comes from people who claim to extol tolerance.
