Tesla founders were on the brink of filing a bankruptcy. Without Elon, these 2 founders would have let Tesla go into a bankruptcy and we would not be driving Tesla today or another EV. GM, Ford, and other legacy ICE makers would not making an EV if Elon wasn’t successful.

Fair point. Let's see how the next couple years go. It may continue to succeed, but a lot can go wrong for Tesla, not the least of which is the damage he has done to the brand, since announcing he was taking over Twitter. For many observers, it's gone from cool to fool.

The only reason Telsa is still around is because Elon sold carbon credits to the other car manufacturers so they could keep on making cars that pollute. Without that income Tesla would be bankrupt.

Without Tesla, EVs might have never reached the light of day. Tesla accelerated transition to sustainable energy, and forced incumbent car companies to transition to EV. It is only through Tesla that EV became cool. If Elon isn’t involved, I doubt it will be successful

The original Tesla Roadster was jointly developed by Lotus and is essentially a battery powered Elise that has little in common with any current Tesla. I think Musk has been at the forefront of bringing electrics into the mainstream. Not excusing his destructive nuttiness
