Surreal night in Beijing
Protesters chanted "no to covid tests, yes to freedom" for hours
Some cheered for Xi Jinping to step down.
After 2am, police presence ramped up. I asked one what they'd do if people didn't leave. Would they use tear gas? He just said plz go home @cnn

People of #China: I 💕 you, I stand with you, I am inspired by your courage and I am with you all the way.

‘And here is a row of police telling us to please go home.’

Cool ! Une bonne petite guerre civile en Chine c'est la dernière case qui me manquait sur mon bingo de 2022.

Amerikan -İngiltere medyası Çin 'de.
Çin'i insani değerlerden uzak bir ülke olarak algılayan tek kişi degilim.
Küresel medyanın yayın politikasına da güvenmem. Hakikat arada bir yerde.Satıraraları önemli.
Urumçi'den gelen haberler ise dehşetverici.

CNN live reporting from an anti-government protest in China wasn't something I ever expected to happen in my lifetime.

Who knows what happens next BUT it is an incredible moment in history.

Remember 17% of all humans live in China

How come everyone is wearing a mask (except you)? One great way to resist is to take off the masks and live their lives. The police can’t arrest a billion people. They’ll have to give up.

I, as a citizen of Myanmar, your neighbor, stand in solidarity with the people of China. We are also facing oppression by the military junta supported by Xi Jinping and at the same time, we are fighting back against them. Fight for our shared future. pic.twitter.com/90dOzueLET

I stand with the people of China against the Communist state's oppression. Retweet if you do too.

Omg the police are so brutal that they showed restraint and delivered calm responses to provoking questions

You must be disappointed 😂

In reply to @selinawangtv
has CNN ever asked a US policeman while keeping peace: what would the US policemen do if people don't leave as requested? what substandard journalism

I wonder if PMJT will get even more shit now from Xi ?

An unprecedented wave of protests across China directly challenging the Chinese Communist Party’s authoritarian rule.

Spurred by draconian COVID measures, the Chinese people are now denouncing Xi Jinping. Watch:

They're kids. They want to find mates. The red line at the bottom of this chart is China's Covid deaths (you have to look hard to see it, but it's there): pic.twitter.com/JfOk6k1H5j

These kind of mass protests have not happened in China since 1989. Reflects that people are sick and tired of Zero Covid. Doubt if anything politically will stick on CCP or Xi.

Please go home... and wear a mask... and keep 2 meters distance... and clean your hands frequently... and don't chat to others unless it's necessary... and... and... and...

With Internet no one needs to hide the filmed footage to smuggle out of the country again. Everyone can see what's happening in real time. How will CCP react this time?

In reply to @selinawangtv
The largest uprising is taking place across the China since the famous Tiananmen square protest had happened in 1989. People want Freedom and Democracy!

In reply to @selinawangtv
yeah the police politely ask you to leave and even allow you to take video in front of their face.

In reply to @selinawangtv
I'm like, ridiculously shocked you're allowed to even make this story in that government. Please stay safe!

History in the making

In reply to @selinawangtv
God bless them all; may they prevail or at least keep going. The Western World “leaders” have to wake up, voice support for these brave protesters and denounce the CCP. But when Klaus Schwab calls China “the model for developed nations” we know something is wrong.

In reply to @selinawangtv
It's a common knowledge that in any country some people never appreciate or understand some gov actions that is good for them. Testing is important, however inconvenient it might be. Good on them for voicing their opinion, and good on the government for continuing the tests.

Covid zero is a ridiculous practice that’s not achievable and the Chinese people aren’t taking it anymore.

In reply to @selinawangtv

It will be interesting to see how the US reacts to these protest's

Very brave people!

Me also thinks that Wall Street is going to have a bit of a freakout over this. Whatever happens in China is felt everywhere. Instability there leads to economic panic.

CNN is a strong proponent to lockdowns &authoritarians. They gleefully and feverishly allowed their network to be used to usher in dramatic images and propaganda to scare the sheep into submission. They have to be agreeing the Chinese government on this, nothing else makes sense

In reply to @selinawangtv
Imagine that 😳 they are treating you like a human

Los entiendo.

Tanto encierro forzoso, cuando ya se tienen otras medidas y ya se sabe el mecanismo de transmisión del virus, es absurdo.

I don't care about Covid dissidents, but if anything could stop the fast Putinization of China, I would be happy.

It always works this way, social tension is accumulated and then it releases in unpredictable point.

This is what the CCP wants us to see. They don't show us the brutal crackdown in other cities. The protests where the call is for Xi to go, the call for democracy. Don't be fooled. When everywhere else internet has been shutdown, and this is allowed, it is not the truth.

😯CNN is covering this?
Now I am suspicious! 😏

twitter.com/selinawangtv/s… CNN is covering news in China. Where is the rest of the MSM? What does Biden, Macron and Trudeau think about this? Have they released a statement?

Appreciate these foreign reporters.

In reply to @selinawangtv
The dictator has used covid controls as an excuse to gradually enslave and domesticate people's human rights. A tragic fire not only has killed young and innocent children, but burned people's endurance, seeing this hypocrisy and hideous face of CCP behind their brutal governance

In reply to @selinawangtv
Kick CNN out of China

In reply to @selinawangtv
I fear the wrath that the CCP will bring down on these people yearning to be free. I do not believe the Chinese people are capable of bringing down such the massive tyrannical government of Xijenping.

In reply to @selinawangtv
Looks like an organised protest by the CCP against the CCP. Interesting outing of dramatic footage coming from China.

Had a tour guide in Beijing once who told me he was sent away to a “camp” after Tiannanmen. Lots of folks will be going to camp soon.

In reply to @selinawangtv
This is what would happen everywhere if people didn't fight back.

Total op. Don’t know what CCP has in mind (maybe protests “forced” them to abandon pointless zero #COVID without admitting error) but this stuff is not organic.

In reply to @selinawangtv
I hear there’s a vaccine the west has that actually works.

In reply to @selinawangtv
"Go home." That's exactly what they told people at Tiananmen Square before they started shooting. If things start looking like they might get out of hand, these protests will be handled in the same manner as before.

You should really be wearing a mask. They don't want covid tests? Why? There is no freedom in death. But they are 100% spot on that he should step down. He's a bad bad man. Evil. #CrimesAgainstHumanity
