When I studied in Manipal, I was frequently insulted by some Professors just because I'm a Christian. But I refused to carry their negativity, forgave them and moved on. And I am so much more blessed because of that decision. This Professor apologised. Move on.

Okay, suspension goes too far. Ofcourse it was a grave mistake, but the teacher did apologise to the student when confronted. Some other disciplinary action might have been better.

More than that, @MAHE_Manipal should conduct programs to sensitise faculty, staff and students.

I remember one such incident, one of our professor called one of our classmate “ son of Bitch”. We boycotted his class till the time he said sorry. Surprisingly in this case none of his classmate objected to it and supported him.
