If the Santos' campaign fabricated donors, I would expect federal indictments soon. That would be a serious crime and an easy one to prove and prosecute.
New: We've identified more than a dozen top donors to Santos' 2020 campaign who do not seem to exist.

I also spoke to a friend of Santos' who says he did not give the $2,800 donation attributed to him.

Unfortunately, he's a Republican, and our system never holds them accountable for anything. I seriously fear he will never be charged or face a day in court or jail.

In reply to @marceelias
I'd say the chances are exceedingly high that his browser history would show a search for countries without an extradition treaty with the US.

Someone needs to thoroughly review all of Nancy Marks’s clients, from Lee Zeldin down, to see if anyone else was using straw donors.

A coup that played out on tv, tours led by congressional leaders to prep the coup, a bomber caught on camera all should be easy to prosecute. But nothing happens. Just as in the 2008 financial crisis. Where is the DOJ? Where is justice on any level?

In reply to @marceelias
It doesn’t feel like we have a DOJ.

In reply to @marceelias
Apparently serious crimes that are easy to prove isn't really the kind of work DOJ is into

His campaign Treasurer better have counsel. This is not going to end well.

In reply to @marceelias
I’d like to know if the IRS is auditing him, given the glaring differences between his public statements & existing public records. First an evicted pauper with $10K+ judgements against him, then multi-property owner with enough dough to loan $500K to his campaign? Something 🐠

The unbelievable arrogance and criminality of the entire Republican Party is breathtaking, with George Santos being just its latest manifestation.

I hear the federal prison system has a pretty good men’s volleyball league. @Santos4Congress @SpeakerMcCarthy @HouseGOP #JustResignGeorge #GOPChaos

In reply to @marceelias
You would think wouldn't you. The DOJ is corrupt and facilitating our descent into fascism.

In reply to @marceelias
Most of the congressional GQPers want Santos out but #SpinelessMcCarthy won’t send him packing because in a re-election, he KNOWS that a Democrat will take that seat.

In reply to @marceelias
I’m unfamiliar with the demos of this district. How competitive would a special election be?

In reply to @marceelias
TFG conspired with Michael Cohen. That's a serious crime and an easy one to prove and prosecute, since Cohen already did time for conspiracy with TFG.

In reply to @marceelias
Here is the loudest, stupidest, most egregious phony campaign in recent memory. Of course doj is silent, would expect nothing less, and all the investigating lifting being done by others. However, what was the point of all this? Such a remarkably bad candidate, still got elected.

In reply to @marceelias
Can we just make you AG? Maybe something would actually get done.

In reply to @marceelias
How fast will they act, is the real question. Are we going to have to wait 2 years?

In reply to @marceelias
Someone may want introduce Marc to MG. Apparently noone told him that Merrick doesn't indict anyone.

In reply to @marceelias
That would be true if we had an actual DOJ.

In reply to @marceelias

In reply to @marceelias
I suspect McCarthy will keep him in his seat anyway and just allow proxy voting from prison.

In reply to @marceelias
Soon has been redefined by a variable called political party. 1. Democrats going after a republican takes approximately 5-10 years before they just give up. 2. GOP going after a Dem takes one memo and repeated memo text over media, social media, and every GOP politician.

Well yes - it’s as if something’s got to be done, indictment-wise or arrest-wise

In reply to @marceelias
That all depends on jurisdiction. The higher up the DOJ chain, the less likely anything will happen swiftly if at all.

In reply to @marceelias
I would have thought stolen documents on camera would be easy to prove and prosecute, too.....Or financial crimes on paper

In reply to @marceelias
And it will go nowhere because republicans.

In reply to @marceelias
I suspect there's a counter espionage investigation and it will hold this up a while longer You can't convince me many GQP and trump aren't under constant surveillance for espionage against America Trump since we knew he had top secret nuclear Intel Many GQP since Jan 6

They wouldn't do anything above the law?...just askin'

In reply to @marceelias
Then what happens, a special election for his seat?

In reply to @marceelias
And that should answer McCarthy's question about which crimes Santos has been accused of. But, he did get Santos' vote, so there's that.

In reply to @marceelias
It’s cute that you still believe in consequences

In reply to @marceelias
In theory, you would certainly think so. However, because it’s political now I have zero faith in the DOJ to do squat.

In reply to @marceelias
The definitions of "soon" and "imminent" have surely changed over the years.

In reply to @marceelias
Do we know if other GOP candidates have done the same?

In reply to @marceelias
can we prosecute schiff for having fundraisers by ukrainian arms dealers?

In reply to @marceelias
"Federal indictments soon" Ha ha ha.

In reply to @marceelias
How come it takes so long to indict someone like Santos, tfg, Paxton in Texas, etc.?

"Soon" being the word here.

We hope soon.

In reply to @marceelias
Who knows, he may not even be a citizen…, but he still seating in Congress. It is a very embarrassing moment for our country, we go to other countries to help with corruption and we don’t have laws to keep him away from our government. The guy is bad! Ask Hillary 🤔

In reply to @marceelias
They will be served 2 hours before his term is up.

In reply to @marceelias
As usual, wheels of Justice is turning very SLOW.

In reply to @marceelias
If far-right fascists, en masse, can commit sedition and treason without consequences, I don't see anything being done about this either.

In reply to @marceelias
I would love it if feckless mccarthy was involved.

In reply to @marceelias
Maybe we should wait for an investigation sense leftist lie at every turn so pardon me if I’m hesitant to believe. Not that santo’s matters but due process.

In reply to @marceelias
like hillabeast clinton ??

In reply to @marceelias
So who did pay for him ? Will they be prosecuted as well ?

it's already proven .

In reply to @marceelias
Stupid is as stupid does - did Santos in his sloppy deception really think he would go unchecked?

Well let’s hope 🤞🏻 I just can’t with that guy

In reply to @marceelias
If and buts, and candy and nuts... LOL "IF" the truth about the Bidens comes out, he and Hunter can share a prison cell.....

In reply to @marceelias
Oh Marc, appears Santos studied Bill and Hillary...you are a grifter 💩

In reply to @marceelias
80000 a month in rent no investigation really

Or come July, will we still be wondering about this like with everything else? Hope I’m wrong.

In reply to @marceelias
And Trump's in Prison

In reply to @marceelias
Unfortunately, it seems that the likelihood of anything happening are slim. It pains me to say that, but it seems to be the state of things.

In reply to @marceelias
You mean like Joe Biden illegally possessing classified documents?

In reply to @marceelias
They'll get to that right after appointing a special investigator to Mike Pence's classified documents.

In reply to @marceelias
> That would be a serious crime and an easy one to prove and prosecute. The hyper partisan and often erroneous Marc Elias may be right about this one. If Santos were a Democrat, a DC jury would let him walk.

In reply to @marceelias
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

In reply to @marceelias
When did they ever move quickly? You mean before next campaign season, maybe?

In reply to @marceelias
They should hurry.

No rush. Drag out the wheels of justice and let him tarnish the House GOP a little bit more.

Where did they money come from????

In reply to @marceelias
Jail time is a good time and the right time for his jail time.

In reply to @marceelias
Yet, media hasn't asked howTF did this lying sack of toilet effluent @Santos4Congress get a 'security clearance'? Oh yeah, clearance is given by the Fascists who just happened to wipe all 1/6 messages! And yet, the USofApathy STILL allows it all!

In reply to @marceelias
Plus, he forged signature for his treasurer, who is not his treasurer. DOJ must be working on it because they asked others to hold off for now.

In reply to @marceelias

In reply to @marceelias
Santos lied and did some unethical things. You know who’s worse? MTG, Boebert, Gaetz, Jordan, and McCarthy. They’re loaded, cocked, and ready to fire!

In reply to @marceelias
Imagine worrying about donors with fake names and addresses but not voters with fake names and addresses.

In reply to @marceelias
sounds like money laundering when no cash trail can be found. @SpeakerMcCarthy @LeaderMcConnell

In reply to @marceelias
But, we also have to ask whether he even received the money. Maybe the numbers are simply made up?

In reply to @marceelias
Looks like Santos is vying for speaker.

In reply to @marceelias
Like the Clintons?

Obvious question is if the donors are fabricated and the amounts structured to avoid reporting, where did the Rubles* come from?

*You can pretend to act surprised later

In reply to @marceelias
Stop worrying about Santos I thought your specialty was rigging elections and trying to let everyone in the world vote in our elections-no signatures no dates mail in votes ballot stuffing ballot harvesting count votes for weeks rig tabulation counters to only count democrats

In reply to @marceelias
Sure, except the DOJ is neutered and does absolutely nothing.

No for Garland he is a pussy no balls or sense of duty

In reply to @marceelias
If. If you helped in a fraudulent election coverup, indictments will never come. Democrats own the government.
